When the eyes of the world focus on China, when the pure ice and snow meet the enthusiastic Chinese red, many overseas Chinese and overseas Students are also waiting for the opening moment of the Beijing Winter Olympics, looking forward to welcoming a new spring with the motherland.

When the countdown card to the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics returned to zero, Shi Chaofei, secretary general of the Shiyi Hometown Association in Fuzhou, France, was watching the opening ceremony at his home. He was impressed by the interaction between the hockey player and the image ice hockey, and after the ice hockey repeatedly hit the video space, the entire ice cube gradually shattered, and a crystal clear "ice and snow ring" was carved out. Shi Chaofei said that this process means "breaking the ice", which means breaking down barriers, resolving contradictions, approaching each other and understanding each other in Chinese culture, indicating China's vision of world harmony. Shi Chaofei also likes the design of the athletes' entrance, "The main creative team uses scientific and technological content and new concepts to make people less but not empty, full of romance." Through the presentation of China's great rivers, mountains and natural landscapes, it expresses the friendly welcome of Chinese people to friends from all over the world".

Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Duan Lian, who is in Spain, cannot return to his hometown and feel the glory of Beijing becoming the world's first "double Olympic city" on the spot. Duan Lian is a doctoral student at the University of Archbishop Camillas in Spain and the president of the Spanish (Chinese) Federation of Scholars and Scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences. In his view, the "simple, safe and wonderful" requirements of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games were vividly reflected in the opening ceremony. Duan Lian especially likes the countdown design at the opening ceremony - the opening chapter begins in the time rotation of the traditional Chinese calendar, and the twenty-four solar terms flash in turn on the big screen, "which shows the world the breadth and depth of Chinese culture." The design of the Winter Olympics meeting 'Li Chun' also reflects the blessings of the sons and daughters of China for this world event. Duan Lian said that the concept of "going to the future together" of the Beijing Winter Olympics runs through the opening ceremony; the smiling faces of children not only convey the expectations and yearning for a better future, but also show China's self-confidence and self-improvement in the new era.

Also sympathetic to this is Zhou Fan, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Computer Science at Laval University in Canada. In his view, the HighLy Technological Olympic Village, the ingenious Olympic Fire, and the reusable Olympic venues all reflect the concept of "green Olympics"; when the "Winter Olympics" and "Lichun" meet, a vibrant Winter Olympics will also bring hope and strength to the world plagued by the epidemic.

Zhu Jiale, who is studying for a doctorate at the University of Sydney in Australia, watched the opening ceremony live with his roommates. He deliberately found the "Spring Festival Bag" issued by the Consulate General to local Chinese students during the Spring Festival, and took out the "ice pier" ornament. "Australian TV anchors have been praising Beijing." Zhu Jiale proudly said, "The combination of science and technology and art at the opening ceremony complemented each other and brought a visual feast to the world. ”

At the opening ceremony, as a child trumpeter blew the melody of "My Motherland and Me", in the center of the bird's nest, a five-star red flag was slowly unfolded in the hands of 12 children. Subsequently, they passed the national flag to representatives from all walks of life and 56 nationalities, and finally solemnly handed it to the salute soldiers. Zhu Jiale's memories are brought back to the time when Beijing hosted the Summer Olympics in 2008, when he had just graduated from elementary school, "when he was young and ignorant, he simply felt that the country was just running a big sports event." Now, after experiencing the global spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and the rebound of the epidemic in Australia, Zhu Jiale said with emotion: "Now, we may be the only country in the world that has the ability to run a 'simple sports meeting'." ”

As the president of the China Federation of Students in New South Wales, Australia, Zhu Jiale organized the Federation of Students and the Australian Youth And Young Talents Development Association to hold the theme activities of the Beijing Winter Olympics and actively promote the Beijing Winter Olympics in the local area.

Fourteen years ago, Li Huan, president of the French Shaanxi Federation, was invited to participate in the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games at the Bird's Nest. Li Huan is very proud that this big family of human sports has come to Beijing for the first time in 14 years. "As I watched the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, I realized how important sport and the Olympic Games are, and that is one of the few occasions where representatives of the world can gather together." In Li Huan's view, any act of conflict, prejudice and division seems incomparably small under the olympic five rings.

Li Huan observed that when the French local media reported on the Beijing Winter Olympics, they especially introduced the Winter Olympics in the "bubble" environment, and also mentioned the "scientific and technological model" of robot cooking and food delivery in the Olympic Village, and also reported on the cooperation between China and France in ice and snow sports. In 2019, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese issued an initiative to overseas Chinese around the world to "donate to build an overseas Chinese ice and snow museum" and collect related exhibition collections. After Shi Chaofei learned the news, he led the association to respond positively and publicized the Beijing Winter Olympics to his French friends. In January this year, the inauguration ceremony of the Overseas Chinese Ice and Snow Museum was held in Chongli, Zhangjiakou. This museum, built with the participation of nearly 30,000 overseas Chinese from 53 countries and regions, is the first ice and snow museum in China with the theme of the Winter Olympics.

Zhou Fan, as the main person in charge, organized 15 Chinese student federations in Quebec and New Brunswick, Canada, and jointly held a "Winter Olympics 2022 New Year Campus Singer Competition". Chinese New Year's Eve final was broadcast on the cloud, and international students in a foreign country took the opportunity of the Beijing Winter Olympics to express their New Year wishes for the motherland and their families. Zhou Fan said: "The Beijing Winter Olympics and The Winter Paralympic Games have brought warm strength to overseas students in this cold winter of the epidemic. ”
