| head coach Of the Winter Olympics, LantaMaiki: China's combination technology is good and inexperienced

Following February 5, the Chinese curling mixed doubles pair once again swallowed the result of a day of two defeats. Losing to the British team in the morning and losing to Italy in the afternoon, after the current eight rounds of matches, the Chinese mixed doubles has ranked 9th among the 10 participating teams with a score of 2 wins and 6 losses, and has lost the possibility of entering the final four. At the end of the game on the afternoon of the 6th, LantaMeki, head coach of the Chinese curling mixed doubles project, talked about his views on the Chinese curling mixed doubles team in the mixed mining area.

In her last appearance, her last skate, New Zealand girl Zoe Sadowski Sinnot withstood the pressure to win the Women's Steeplechase Snowboard Championships with 92.88 points. At just 20 years old, she became the first gold medalist in the history of the New Zealand Winter Olympics.

Q: Please rate the overall performance of Chinese players?

A: Ling Zhi and Fan Suyuan's game skills are very good, the psychological state during the game is also good, and the attitude towards the game and usual training is also very serious. I'm not casually saying that you can look at the technical data, they played some very nice balls at the Beijing Winter Olympics. At the moment, their main problem is the experience of the game (lack of experience). Curling competitions have the order of appearance and the number of innings of each game is different, and this ability needs to go through a lot of games to grow into a good team, in order to find a solution to the problem when encountering a complex situation.

Looking at the 9 opponents that the Chinese team encountered this time, they are all veterans of hundreds of battles, and Ling Zhi and Fan Suyuancai participated in a major competition of this level at the Winter Olympics for the first time, and it is unrealistic to expect to have an excellent performance in one major competition. But I believe that as long as they continue to work hard along the current path, they will certainly perform far more at the 2026 Winter Olympics than they are now.

Q: Six consecutive defeats after two consecutive wins, is that what you expected? Is this normal?

A: Actually, this is an accidental phenomenon. It is possible to win twice, lose twice, and then win four times, and this order of winning and losing does not matter. Specific to the Chinese team, perhaps it is not very good at the beginning of the opponent, or the strength is not very strong, which has caused everyone to see the results of the winning streak and the losing streak.

Q: Is the six-game losing streak the cause of strength, or is it psychological, the experience of the game, or a combination of three factors?

A: I think the current competition skills that Ling Zhi and Fan Suyuan have mastered are quite perfect, and they can play the curling they want. But for the past two years, they have not had the opportunity to compete in international competitions, a lesson that cannot be solved by training at home alone. This year's Curling World Championships will be held at the end of August, but we have not yet decided whether to participate, and if they decide to participate, if the Chinese Curling Association still hires me to continue coaching, I am happy to lead them after the end of the holiday.
