It may not make sense for Philadelphia to make the deal because they need to give up Maxie, but they don't want to give up Maxie. But Philadelphia must recognize that if they take the right action, they have a chance of winning the championship this season. Embiid has played his peak this season, but it is unknown how long his peak period will last, and one of the fact that Embiid is in trouble is that he is prone to injury, which means that his peak period may be shorter than many people hope and expect.

It could be an interesting trade option, and bringing back Beal would be a huge help for this team because while he doesn't look so good this season, he's still a high-level scorer capable of doing a lot of things similar to Harden.
Harrell is also extremely helpful, and he may prove to be an important asset in the playoffs. Harrell is a solid offensive scorer who can also effectively grab rebounds. Both of those things are what the Nets are looking for, so it makes sense for them to make a deal like this.
Nets get: Clarkson, Conley, Guy
Jazz get: Harden
Harden's joining the Jazz may be very appropriate, but no one seems willing to talk about it. The Jazz certainly need Mitchell to join another super-goal, and while they'll lose a lot of depth in the process, that's probably something they need to consider. Clarkson, Conley and Guy all play important roles in the Jazz, but as the team has lost in the playoffs over the past few years, they need superstars.
If the Nets can get those three players, they're going to get better right away, and it's reasonable to think that if the Jazz get Harden, they'll be better in the playoffs as well.
