We read all the lead to present a different history.
Looking at the world, the first thing to see the level of a country's sense of existence is its comprehensive national strength. As for the comprehensive national strength, it is usually related to the size of the land area and the size of the population. From a common sense point of view, the wider the country and the more populous the population, the stronger the comprehensive national strength, the higher the status in the international community, and the more weighty the speech, such as Russia, the United States, China, Canada, and Australia. Even India, which is not economically developed, has always prided itself on being a world power with 3 million square kilometers of land and a huge population. However, there is such a country in the world, the land area is almost three times the size of India, and the population is more than 200 million, but the sense of existence is somewhat embarrassing, and even many people do not feel that it is a big country.

Rio de Janeiro, the former capital of Brazil
This sad country is Brazil. Speaking of which, Brazil's land area is second only to Russia, Canada, China and the United States, ranking fifth in the world, and the population is also 209 million. If you only look at the numbers, then Brazil's presence in the world is not as good as the five major countries, and it should definitely surpass India. In fact, when it comes to discourse power and world ranking, Brazil is really not as good as India, and even the sense of existence is not as good as that of small countries such as Israel and Singapore. This makes people very incomprehensible, such a huge territory, such a sufficient population, and the domestic economy is not too bad, or one of the BRICS countries, how can it be so uninformed? In Zi yuan's view, there are mainly three reasons.
▲Brazil's location
First, Brazil is large, but there are not many useful places. Of the more than 8.5 million square kilometers, 80 percent are plateaus, and many are no-man's land. That is to say, although Brazil is three times the size of India, it does not even have a third of the land that can produce practical utility. With such a large territory in the air, it is impossible to cultivate land, nor graze cattle, nor can it let people live there, it is really big and useless, and it is impossible to gather any effective force.

The second is Brazil's deep middle-income crisis. From the 1950s to the 1970s, Brazil's economy was booming, and the country's various industries flourished, especially in 1968-1973, when the average annual GDP growth rate reached more than 10%. In 1975, per capita GDP exceeded $1,000 for the first time, suddenly transforming from a backward country to a middle-income country. However, this miracle did not continue, and after entering the 1980s, it suffered a "lost decade", the economy basically stopped growing, and the structure could not be transformed.

Even after the neoliberal reforms of the 1990s and the rapid growth of the global economy at the beginning of this century, the Brazilian economy has not been able to reproduce the previous sustained high growth, the per capita GDP has long hovered at a medium level, the country's economic development is very slow, and of course it cannot play a role in the world economy. Economically, it is impossible to talk about it, other things are virtual, and naturally there is no influence and sense of existence.

Third, Brazil is close to the world's largest country and does not have a geographical advantage. If Brazil is placed in Asia, or in Africa and Europe, then the influence must be much better than it is now, after all, there are so big blocks, if nothing else, it is definitely more powerful than India. However, it is located in South America, which happens to be the backyard of the United States. As the world's only superpower, the United States is not only economically prosperous and militarily powerful, but also notoriously strong, how can it allow a large, populous, and influential country so close to itself? Brazil wants to be angry and strong, and it can't stand up to Uncle Sam's various repressions, and the sense of existence is not low.
