AT&T Pebble Beach Pro/Am Matchmaking Begins! Spiess and Day fight as many as they can!

This week, the PGA Tour will make its third stop on the West Coast tour, Pebble Beach, California.

Defending champion Daniel Berg, Last week's T3 finished with Jenson Day, and 2017 champion Jordan Spieth led the pack (ten of the world's top 50 players will play) challenging Pebble Beach Golf Links, Periscope Hill Golf Course and Montreux Peninsula Country Club (Coastal Course). Rugby star Josh Allen, country singer Jack Owen and comedy star Bill Murray and other celebrities will be paired with professional players.

This week's tournament is played on a 54-hole knockout system, with the top 60 (including tied) professional players and the top 25 pro-amateur teams (even if the team's professional players are not in the top 60) will advance to the weekend final round.

The tournament will have a total prize money of $8.7 million, and the winner will earn $1.404 million and 500 FedEx Cup points.

Daniel Berger punches in the fifth title of his career

The tournament's first defending champion in twelve years?

(Defending champion Berger)

Daniel Berg, a 28-year-old American player, holds four PGA Tour championships and has had the experience of successfully defending his title (winning the FedEx Cup St. Jude's Classic in 2016 and 2017). His record at Pebble Beach has always been good, having won the T10 (2015) and T5 (2020) here before winning last year.

Since Dustin Johnson won back-to-back here in 2009 and 2010, no player has successfully defended his title in twelve years, and Berger, who is in good shape (the best result of this season is the Sentinel Championship T5), is expected to make a breakthrough.

It is worth mentioning that in 2011, after the DJ achieved the defense of his title, Berg, who was only a high school player at the time, firmly believed in his favorite hardcore model. To this day, eleven years later, he still uses the same type of reliable "old iron": "I have done a lot of testing, and this set of iron rods is still the best for me." I don't think there's a need to replace them. ”

Favorite player to win the championship

1. Patrick Cantley

(Cantelli's first title of the season)

"Iceman" Cantelli is the world's highest-ranked player (no. 4 in the world) in this week's roster, and his best results so far this season are a separate fourth in the Sentinel Championship and a separate ninth in The American Express.

Cantelli's past record at Pebble Beach is good, qualifying in all five competitions, and last year he achieved his personal best record (T3).

2. Jenson Day

(Dyy State Recovery)

At last week's race, Jenson Dey was on track to end a four-year championship drought and finally achieve a good T3 result (for details, please click: Lister's Hole Race!). Saratoris is second, Dey and Ram are in the same T3), and his performance in Dorisson also proves that it is no accident that the player has achieved multiple good results on the same pitch.

Although Dey has yet to record a win at Pebble Beach, he has qualified here 12 times and finished in the top 15 ten times.

3. Jordan Spieth

(Spieth in last year's race)

A year ago this week, Spieth achieved a T4 at TPC Sktsdale and then took advantage of the T3 at Pebble Beach. As the 2017 tournament champion, Spiess qualified for all nine of his races, finishing third last year.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Amateur Matchup is the last game of the season to be played on multiple courses. Affected by the epidemic last year, the game was played under the stadium without spectators, and only two stadiums were used. The first three rounds of this week's tournament will be played at three stadiums simultaneously, with the final round being decided at Pebble Beach Links.

Spitis said in an interview: "Pebble Beach is a favorite of the players, and the history and design of the stadium are very attractive. As amateur players return to the tournament, Pebble Beach's course setup will be simpler than last year, with long grass areas trimmed to only 5 centimetres tall.
