You can expect a well-calibrated and vibrant display on a OnePlus 9RT phone with an AMOLED panel with Full HD + resolution within a 6.62-inch diagonal.
The screen is bright and vivid, to say the least. It features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, which is nice, but it's also not the latest Victus cover glass for the Galaxy S21 FE.
The phone retains the fast and smooth mantra that OnePlus has been touting for nearly a decade, thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate, which can be manually reduced to 60Hz.
It also gets an extremely fast 380Hz touch sample rate, which we first experienced in the OnePlus 9 Pro last year, but in addition, for gamers, the 600Hz touch sample rate is activated in some games.
In my opinion, I can't tell the difference when testing the phone, but overall, the scrolling is still very smooth.
The display is also home to an optical fingerprint scanner, which is largely reliable and lightning-fast when it unlocks the phone. The phone also comes with a basic face unlock system that works with a separate front-facing camera.
Core performance
Fundamentally, the OnePlus 9RT has the same core performance as the OnePlus 9 Pro, with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset, as well as 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
However, the OnePlus 9RT has been upgraded with a new heat-depleting board to better manage heat dissipation and sustained performance.
In all comprehensive benchmarks, the OnePlus 9RT outperformed some other Snapdragon 888 flagships, including the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro.
In terms of gaming, high-fidelity games like Call of Duty mobile and Wild Drag Racing 8 are a treat to play on my phone for a long time, and during my testing, the phone never got too hot, and the game was very smooth.
Very much in line with OnePlus' positioning, the OnePlus 9RT is an affordable flagship that also doubles as a gaming phone.

camera
The OnePlus 9RT is equipped with a triple-camera array, including the Pro model's 50Mp Sony IMX 766 as its main camera.
Photos taken from the main camera, with a blue hue and filled with a lot of dynamic range, generally speaking, as long as there is enough light, the OnePlus 9RT will take good photos.
It's no less than that even in low-light situations. It takes bright photos even without night mode, and it performs better when night mode is activated.
The macro camera is a bit disappointing because it has a resolution of 2Mp. Macro cameras are a bit redundant, and perhaps OnePlus can enable that feature with an ultra-wide-angle lens. Instead, the telephoto lens will be appreciated because it doesn't exist, which is a glaring weakness of the camera system compared to major competitors.
Another weakness is the selfie camera, which can take faded selfies and can only be boosted through the Google Camera app.

Equipped with a 4500mAh battery, the OnePlus 9RT can be charged with a 65T charger and fully charged in just over 30 minutes. Unfortunately, this phone also does not have a wireless charging function.
In terms of battery life, the OnePlus 9RT reached 12 hours in our tests and even beat the Xiaomi Mi 11T Pro. In everyday use, it always lasts more than a working day, and for most people, the phone can even be used for a day and a half, which is impressive.
An excellent camera game phone, but the drawbacks are also obvious
