【Folklore】After the Spring Festival, are the children born again tigers? There are folklorists who do not approve

The "tiger" is in full swing

2022 will be the year of nongyin, that is, the year of the tiger. However, it is debatable on which day the Year of the Tiger begins. Generally speaking, everyone believes that the year of the tiger will begin on the first day of the first lunar month in 2022, that is, february 1 in the solar calendar. But in the eyes of some folklore experts, this is not right.

These folklore experts believe that the traditional twelve genera correspond to the twelve branches in the traditional chronology; in the mainland's traditional Tiangandi branch chronology system, there are 24 solar terms every year, and the first solar term is Lichun, so it has entered a new year from the beginning of Lichun.

This statement seems to be reasonable: a year is divided into four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter, and the first season of each year is spring; that is, from the day of spring, it enters the first season of the next year, and of course, it enters the next year.

According to this concept, newborns in 2022 should still be considered cattle after the Spring Festival on February 1; only on February 4, into the 24th solar terms of 2022, can they be considered tigers.

Professor Ye Chunsheng, professor of the Department of Chinese of Sun Yat-sen University, doctoral supervisor and vice chairman of the Chinese Folklore Society, believes that the zodiac sign is calculated from Lichun, not from the first day of the first lunar month and the beginning of the Lunar New Year. The date and hour of Lichun are accurately calculated by calendar scholars based on the rotation and rotation of the earth, and have accurate scientific basis.

Li Min, secretary general of the Jiangsu Astronomical Society, also believes that the zodiac should be counted from Lichun. He said: In ancient China, the year, month and day were recorded by the branches of heaven and dry earth. The saying of the zodiac sign is only found in the Chronology of The Heavenly Stem and the Earth Branch.

However, Gu Xijia, director of the Chinese Folklore Society and a folklore expert, believes that the genus should not be calculated according to the twenty-four solar terms, after all, the Spring Festival is the beginning of the Lunar New Year, and the zodiac year of the lunar calendar should naturally be counted from the beginning of the first month.

In 2015, China Science Daily once published an article refuting the statement that "the zodiac sign begins with Lichun", arguing that because the lunar calendar is a luni-yang calendar, it is normal for the lichun of the following year to appear in the previous year, which does not mean that the zodiac should also be followed in advance, otherwise it will be chaotic.

If the view of China Science Daily, although the 2021 Lichun is before the Spring Festival (Lichun February 3, The Spring Festival is February 12), the change of the zodiac should not be advanced; the 2022 Lichun after the Spring Festival, the switch of the zodiac to tiger should not lag behind.

Both of these claims sound reasonable, but in comparison, they are not absolutely and overwhelmingly convincing. It is true that Lichun is the first festival of the year, but it is not wrong that the first day of the first lunar month is the first day of the lunar calendar every year...

The Year of the Tiger is auspicious

However, there is an indisputable fact: if the beginning of each year is calculated according to the "Lichun", then the two "Lichun" before and after are accurate 365 days, and if the "Spring Festival" is calculated from the "Spring Festival" to the "Spring Festival", the short between the two Spring Festivals is only 354 days, and the long is as many as 384 days.

But despite this, in real life, the vast majority of parents are born before the Spring Festival or after the Spring Festival to determine the child's zodiac sign.

On May 12, 2017, the mainland issued the "National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T33661-2017 "Compilation and Promulgation of the Lunar Calendar", which specifically clarifies the 0 points of the dry branch year and the zodiac year, both starting from the first day of the first lunar month of the lunar calendar. As soon as the national standard came out, it seemed that the controversy should be quelled; however, there were still some folklorists and numerologists who insisted on determining the zodiac sign according to the before and after of Li Chun.

It seems that this matter is a bit "cut and messed up".
