According to Cavaliers reporter Evan Dammarell, sources revealed that the Cavaliers have been awarded an injury exception worth about $3.1 million due to the long absence of team guard Sexton.
Last November, Sexton suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee and has been absent since. Sexton himself has previously said in an interview that he does not rule out the possibility of a comeback in the playoffs, but according to Cavaliers reporter Chris Fedor, as far as he knows, no one inside the Cavaliers feels that he can recover this season.
The Cavaliers also currently have an $8.9 million injury exception (Rubio season reimbursement).
