North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un and his wife, Ri Se-joo, watched a New Year celebration at north Korea's Mansudae Arts Theater on February 1.

According to the KCNA report on February 2, when Kim Jong-un and Lee Seok-joon walked into the auditorium of the theater together, the entire audience cheered warmly, and Kim Jong-un waved back to the audience and congratulated the soldiers of the defense industry for the New Year. In addition, Cho Yong-hae, Cho Yong-won, Kim Deok-hoon, and Park Jeong-cheon, members of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and Ri Il-hwan, Jeong Sang-gak, Oh So-yong, and Tae Hyung-che, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, watched the performance together.

KCNA reported that North Korea's main veteran arts group participated in the performance.

After the national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played, the performance began with the overture "Snowflakes Fluttering on New Year's Day", after which a number of patriotic songs were sung, and the audience responded with warm applause.

After the performance, Kim Jong-un and Lee Seok-joo took to the stage together to shake hands with the performers one by one, congratulated the success of the performance, and took a group photo with them.
