11% increase in the number of nozzles for the new Mutoh AccuFine printhead

Muto recently unveiled a brand new dye-sublimation printer, the XpertJet 1642WR Pro. This mid-level entry printer features two new extra-wide Mutoh AccuFine printheads that improve point placement accuracy at increased production print speeds from 171 ft2/hr. It is ideal for home décor, soft signage, sportswear and fashion applications.

11% increase in the number of nozzles for the new Mutoh AccuFine printhead

The newly developed Mutoh AccuFine printheads have increased the number of nozzles by 11% and the length of the nozzles by 33%. Compared with the previous printhead, the ink drop printing accuracy of this printhead is improved by 20%. The XPJ-1642WR Pro features an automated process that prints on thinner, lighter transfer paper.

These features include DH21 dye sublimation inks for high-density colors, superior color reproduction and jetting, and color stability. The DropMaster 2 sensor on the bay automatically calibrates bi-directional alignment. If the clogged nozzle cannot be recovered, the nozzle area selection will print with the active nozzle block. Feed Master's built-in sensors allow for automatic adjustment of media feeds. Media Tracker prints barcodes before removing media, and when unprinted media is loaded again, the built-in sensor recognizes the amount of media remaining.

Randy Anderson, Product Marketing Manager at Mutoh America, said: "The XpertJet 1642WR Pro features technology from the new Mutoh AccuFine printhead with higher precision for better jetting, as well as auto-alignment and auto-feed capabilities to keep the printer adjusted. Mutoh's DH21 dye sublimation ink dries quickly and achieves high density of color with less ink consumption, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
