Taking into account the existing results, as well as the wishes of the region and operators, the project will revitalize the transport of local airlines and solve the problem of ensuring accessibility, first of all in the Far East. ”
The plane took off from Yekaterinburg Airport (Aramir), a flight at an altitude of 500 meters and lasted about 25 minutes. According to the mission, The first-class test pilot Valentin Lavlentiev completed the flight to test the aircraft's stability and controllability in the air.
Vadim Jerming, chief designer of the project, said: "In terms of its market segment, the cruising speed of 'Lake Baikal' is quite good, up to 300 kilometers per hour, and the maximum range of the aircraft will be 3000 kilometers (the payload is 2 tons to 1500 kilometers). ”
The LMS-901 "Lake Baikal", developed by the engineering company Lake Gar under a contract with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, is supposed to replace the obsolete light multi-purpose aircraft (LMS) An-2, known as the "Corn". Mass production of "Baikal" aircraft is planned from 2024.
