Yan Feihu, deputy chief physician of the Department of Anorectal Surgery at Changhai Hospital of naval military medical university, told the Health Times reporter that as a military doctor, he and his wife just did what they should do.
"Hearing the cry for help, we quickly went forward to make a judgment, and found that the passenger's pupils had been dilated, his teeth were closed, his muscles were in a state of spasm, there was a lot of secretions in his mouth, and finally judged that it was a cardiac arrest and needed to undergo immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation." Yan Feihu said that after cleaning up the secretions in his mouth, he and his wife launched a series of CPR rescue actions such as open airway, artificial respiration, and extracardiac compressions. After 4 minutes of emergency rescue, the passenger gradually regained his breathing and consciousness, basically out of danger of life, and was subsequently sent to the hospital for observation.
It is understood that the rescued passenger is a Taiwan compatriot who is preparing to return home, who has been working in Shenzhen for many years, this time in Shanghai to transfer to Taiwan, because he did not eat or drink much on the way, and passed out and lost consciousness during the transfer.
"Seeing that he was in good condition when he was taken to the hospital, we boarded the plane with confidence." Unexpectedly, after the plane landed, he received a message of safety and thanks from his companions, and he felt very warm inside. Yan Feihu told reporters that at that time, the situation was urgent and did not consider whether the passengers had infectious diseases or whether there was a nucleic acid test report for the new crown pneumonia virus, etc., "but saving people is a matter of racing against the clock, and it is also my duty." Yan Feihu said.

Recalling the entire rescue process, Yan Feihu said that the main reason was the rapid judgment and decisive decision in the early stage. "For a patient with cardiac arrest, every minute and second of his life is precious, and we didn't hesitate in the early stages, saving a lot of time."
