"I really know it's wrong,
I shouldn't have smashed him..."
In court, the defendant Zhou Moumou burst into tears, and even lost control of his emotions for a while, regretting that he had smashed his son-in-law Mr. Wu because of a moment of anger. Why did defendant Zhou want to use a hammer to smash his son-in-law Mr. Wu?

In the middle of April last year, Mr. Wu and his wife separated due to divorce, and the wife told her mother Zhou about the divorce, and although Zhou was a little angry, she still strongly advised him to make peace.
But when his daughter told Zhou that "I suspect that he spread my nude photos and slandered me on the Internet", Zhou was very angry, and his position changed from the original persuasion to persuasion, and went to find his son-in-law Mr. Wu theory, but in the end it ended in fruitlessness.
A week later, Mr. Wu received a call from his wife and asked him to go to his wife's house to operate the online registration for his son. Although there are contradictions between husband and wife, the children are innocent. Mr. Wu resolutely agreed and went to his wife's house after work.
At that time, the mother-in-law, Zhou Moumou, was watching TV in the living room, and his wife was playing with her son. When the wife saw Mr. Wu coming, she began to register with him on the computer. At this time, Zhou Moumou saw his son-in-law Mr. Wu come to the house, and the original suppressed anger rose instantly, so he casually picked up the hammer from the toolbox at home and walked behind Mr. Wu and smashed it on his head.
This scene frightened the child who was playing in the living room, and the wife did not have time to stop the mother Zhou Moumou in order to take care of the child first.
In the mess, the mother-in-law Zhou Moumou not only smashed the head of his son-in-law Mr. Wu, but even the hand used to protect his head was also smashed, and Mr. Wu, who was terrified, immediately fled in a hurry. Afterwards, the mother-in-law, Zhou Moumou, took the initiative to report the case and turned herself in. After arriving at the case, Zhou Moumou truthfully confessed the facts of the crime, voluntarily admitted guilt and accepted punishment, and obtained the victim's forgiveness.
After appraisal, the victim, Mr. Wu, was smashed and injured, resulting in a scalp fracture and a scratch on the skin on the back of his right hand, which constituted a minor injury of the second degree.
The undertaking procurator said that Mr. Zhou used an iron hammer to injure the victim, Mr. Wu, and his behavior had violated the provisions of article 234 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, and he should be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of intentional injury.
On December 28 last year, the Shanghai Jiading District Procuratorate prosecuted defendant Zhou Moumou for intentional injury in accordance with law.
On January 13, 2022, the case was heard, and the defendant Zhou Moumou repented again in court and deeply realized his mistake:
"I used to have a very good relationship with my son-in-law, but I didn't expect that because I was angry for a while, I not only made myself a defendant, but also hurt my son-in-law..."
In the end, after trial by the people's court, the defendant Zhou X was sentenced to eight months' imprisonment, suspended for one year.
