The excavated cultural relics have not left their homeland because they are buried deep underground, and can be called the most authentic cultural relics of the Yuanmingyuan. As a witness to the rise and fall of the Yuanmingyuan, they have high historical and artistic value. The Yuanmingyuan has unearthed a wide variety of cultural relics during the renovation of the site and archaeological excavations over the years: copper, jade, porcelain, glass, brick, stone and so on.

Among them, the number of porcelain cultural relics unearthed is large, the most exquisite. What was the collection, furnishing and use of porcelain in the Old Summer Palace? Chen Hui is currently the chief of the Cultural Relics and Archaeology Section of the Yuanmingyuan Management Office and an associate researcher. Engaged in the research and protection and restoration of cultural relics in the Yuanmingyuan. He has published more than 20 papers in academic journals such as Forbidden City, China Cultural Relics Daily, Beijing Wenbo, Calligraphy Series, and Cultural Relics World. Participated in the compilation of large-scale series of books such as "Beijing Cultural Relics architecture department • Garden Volume" organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics, "The Story Behind the Cultural Relics" and "Scattered Cultural Relics of the Yuanmingyuan" organized by the Yuanmingyuan Management Office.
