If you've ever heard of the word "pig killing plate", which is a bit new and unfamiliar, then "Beneficiary" is almost an earthy version of the story of cheating on marriage and cheating to kill pigs. The film's rush between reality and black comedy made me angry when I was trapped in the movie theater.
Therefore, even if it comes from the new director's handwriting, the Dapeng shape suddenly changes, and Liu Yan's performance is unexpected, I still can't accept the treatment of the bottom life as a joke spice.
Here's why.

A large part of my disappointment with The Beneficiary may have been triggered by expectations for the director's bid.

"The Beneficiary" is also a cheat-within-a-deception, a story in the middle of the game. To be precise, it should have been such a reversal story. This bureau is almost absurd, the crime is unforgivable, it is to create accidents, to kill people and cheat insurance.

When the climax of the conflict comes, the film suddenly turns into a black comedy, making the policemen who are angry and aware of their presence become like shooting stars in the night.
From beginning to end, "The Beneficiary" set Liu Yan as an Internet celebrity who plays live broadcasts, she is not confused, but credulously trusts strangers like a middle school student, and then runs all the way, loves his wife on the throne, and the Heart of the Virgin is bursting. The transformation is so fast, from hypocritical snobbery to good wife and mother (stepmother), for no reason. It is as if every woman who has lost her footing is waiting for the day when she is married and loved- and the other party has no performance of "love" at all except for the crappy scene.
I have no prejudice against Liu Yan's role and performance. Her sandwich this time is funny Hunan dialect, regardless of the Cantonese of pot rice, even a little cute. However, the colander script sets her up as a woman without realistic logic and judgment, and "The Beneficiary" is not an overhead genre film, but close to the realist situation (seeking medical treatment, buying a house, family burden), then her existence is unbearable.

The cheating story of "The Beneficiary" is unbelievable in itself. What's more, the fraudulent insurance killing bureau set up by "The Beneficiary" lacks a causal correlation with the urgency of treating asthma. All in all, I don't see that asthma will bring down a normal man who works two jobs (and look at the Internet café and run to drive), nor can I imagine that a shrewd and thick accountant will actually game a Chinese marriage that ordinary people can mix and confuse, which is a fateful game of life that has no return at all. Some people simply said that such a lot of trouble, the accountant directly married and killed, not more accelerated - it shows that the audience is more like a black hole of mystery to the so-called IQ storm.
In other words, in the uncomplicated character relationship, the screenwriter is forcibly thinking instead of the character. No matter what, in short, she should be grateful... He is forced to do so, he will find out in his conscience, you wait...
But if you think according to the situation of the movie characters, whether it is Liu Yan's hook or the stupid situation of thinking that you have crossed the sea, it will not happen at all.
"The Beneficiary" is in desperate need of a sum of money, and it is not as urgent as the 100,000 gambling debts that Dapeng owes in another Chongqing movie, "Desperate". The protagonist is a completely self-imprisoned bird, and he has to lock himself in a smoky Internet café. Especially later, when the children jump around alive and come back to participate in the reality SHOW cosplay narrative, you will feel that the stupid situation that has been painstakingly set up is for what it is.
Although Dapeng also had struggles, more often than not, he was a completely recognized, air-like bag character. Even in Plan B, where the mountain road kills people, he can cooperate in cold blood and perform in front of the dashcam. In this way, not only the silly and sweet Liu Yan, but even the audience cannot stand the collapse of his three views.
In Zhou Xingchi's small-character movies, there will also be a bridge section in which the protagonist is obsessed, repeatedly mean, and even hurts the feelings of others. However, the protagonist will always take a chance to change his mind and gain forgiveness and forgiveness (but definitely not the realism of the pig-killing plate). "The Beneficiary" also arranged such a bridge section, but unfortunately it came too late, too late.
"Beneficiary" tries to use the game moves of black comedy to resolve the previous responsibility of human life, money and conscience. The fallacy is that the film is not in comedic mode for a long time, or flattens the characters. On the contrary, as a live broadcast girl, Liu Yan not only has to face the punishment of the Network X Office, but also has to shoulder the care responsibility of the father at home. It's a modern female character who has aroused sympathy from the audience and strives to be upstream in life — she throws away the stereotypical mask almost the moment she is hooked. In this way, continuing to play with her feelings, whether it is the accountant's salty pig hand or Dapeng's unlucky curse, is infuriating and embarrassing.
Whether a scam can produce love is debatable. But, love, by no means, is a hammer-and-drop deal. The Willow Rock of "Beneficiary" is a strange commodity that can be lived in, and the price is clearly marked to be sold. lamentable.
