According to Tesla's official description, the trunk cover of the vehicle within the scope of this recall may cause excessive wear of the trunk wiring harness after a long period of repeated opening and closing. If this wear causes the core separation of the coaxial cable, it may cause the reversing image to not work properly, thus affecting the driver's field of vision when reversing, and in extreme cases, it will increase the risk of collision when reversing, and there is a safety hazard.
Tesla has not yet received reports of injuries or collisions that occurred under such circumstances.
Due to the large number of people involved in this recall, Tesla needs to make overall arrangements for related work, and after the preparation is ready, the service center will take the initiative to contact users. At present, a number of car owners have received Tesla's recall notification SMS.
