Gaoligong Mountain runs from north to south through the western part of Hengduan Mountain, with a vertical altitude of more than 4,000 meters, spanning five latitude belts, with typical alpine canyons natural geography vertical belt landscape and rich and diverse animal and plant resources. Stretching for more than 600 kilometers, the huge mountain body preserves the only complete area on the earth that transitions from humid tropical forest to temperate forest, is the home of many ancient trees, exotic flowers and plants and rare birds and animals, and is recognized as one of the most biodiverse areas in the world, known as "the refuge of life", "the world's species gene bank", "the world's natural museum" and other reputations. In March 2022, China's National Geographic Expedition led everyone to go deep into Gaoligong Mountain, visit rare animals and plants with experts, and personally understand why Gaoligong Mountain can lead the discovery of species on the mainland.
