Shen Yinmo de poem

Shen Yinmo (1883-1971), whose original name was Junmo, was born in Wuxing County, Zhejiang Province, and his grandfather and father were both officials in Shaanxi, and he was born in 1893 in Hanyin Hall (now Hanyin County), Xing'an Province, Shaanxi Province. Since childhood, he has been studying poetry and calligraphy. In 1905, he and his third brother and scholar went to Japan to study, but due to financial difficulties, they returned to China a year later. After that, he and his mother returned to Huzhou and lived in the former residence of Chengtian Lane. Soon after, he was hired to go to Hangzhou and taught at the Zhejiang Higher School (the predecessor of Zhejiang University) and the two-level normal school.

In 1912, on the recommendation of Xu Bingkun, president of Zhejiang University of Technology, Shen Yinmo was hired by Hu Renyuan, the dean of liberal arts at Peking University (a native of Huzhou, when the president of Peking University was temporarily absent), and taught at Peking University at the beginning of the following year. At the age of thirty, he became a professor at the Department of Chinese at Peking University, where he taught poetry courses, and later became the president of Peking University. Shen Yinmo, whose original name was Shen Junmo, during his tenure at Peking University, a friend joked: "You, an honest and introverted person, usually silent, so why take an extra bite?" "Besides, there is another teacher at Peking University named Zhang Junmo. Therefore, Shen Yinmo decisively abandoned the name "Jun" and the next "mouth". However, Shen Yinmo did not "silently" make a sound in everything and did not take half a step back on the issue of principle.
