Born with beads, reminiscences of the road, know where to go, come to a character reading will feel the charm of Jing'an Intangible Cultural Heritage

Since 2001, when Chinese Kunqu opera was included in UNESCO's Representative List of Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the term "intangible cultural heritage" has begun to enter the public eye. At present, there are 33 intangible cultural heritage skills in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage in Jing'an District, including 3 national intangible cultural heritage projects, 12 at the municipal level and 18 at the district level.

As the Lunar New Year approaches, an exhibition of intangible cultural heritage titled "Technology and Remembrance" is being held at the Jing'an District Cultural Center, aiming to focus on the exquisite skills of non-hereditary inheritors and awaken the memory of intangible cultural heritage through the reproduction of physical scenes. At the same time, the book "Pearls born on the sea: A Record of the Non-Genetic Inheritance of Shanghai Jing'an" is also about to be published.

Taking this as an opportunity, recently, Zhang Zhong, a second-level researcher of the Jing'an District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, the person in charge of intangible cultural heritage work, and the editor-in-chief of "Pearls Of Life on the Sea", Jiang Manzong, the fourth generation inheritor of the Dragon and Phoenix Qipao, and Wang Li, the inheritor and promoter of the flower stick and the principal of Chaoyang Middle School, were guests of the "One Character Reading Club", with the theme of "memory" to share the story of Jing'an Intangible Cultural Heritage with netizens and readers.

Zhang Zhong introduced that the intangible cultural heritage of Jing'an covers five major categories, such as traditional drama, traditional art, traditional skills, traditional medicine, traditional sports and entertainment and acrobatics, which can be described as embodied in all aspects of people's lives. The upcoming book "Pearls of Life on the Sea" selects some inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Jing'an District of Shanghai as interview subjects, taking the details of their lives and personal experiences in old Shanghai as clues to further inherit and promote The Culture of Shanghai and help build a Cultural Brand of Shanghai.

In the process of compiling "Pearls of Life on the Sea", Zhang Zhong deeply understood the growth experiences of several interviewees, and their achievements and reflections on the inheritance of intangible culture. He lamented that the reason why these skills can become intangible cultural heritage projects is to embody the hard work of the inheritors, and also reflects the historical evolution, urban change and municipal development of Shanghai in modern and modern times. Therefore, he hopes that "Pearls Of Life on the Sea" is not only a vivid and informative interview, but also a highly readable oral history of local culture.

On the same day, there were also the national "dragon and phoenix qipao" and the municipal "flower stick" in the Jing'an District Intangible Cultural Heritage.

As the inheritor of the Haipai qipao, the Dragon and Phoenix Qipao originated in Shanghai, and also witnessed the ebb and flow of national costume culture in the prosperity of Shanghai. In the 90s TV series "Shanghai Family", the heroine Li Ruonanbai was an apprentice under the master for 7 years, and the master often used the ring ruler to teach her, and suffered a lot in the middle, and eventually she became a famous businessman in Shanghai Beach. Jiang Manzongdao, the fourth generation inheritor of the Dragon and Phoenix Qipao, this plot is very much in line with their generation's experience of learning skills, following the master to "learn for three years and put three years", the first speed, the second practice of gestures, there is no shortcut.

With the change of the times, the design of the qipao is also constantly innovating and penetrating into the young people. Jiang Manzong said that in the process of taking apprentices, in addition to passing on their years of clothing experience, they will also encourage them to explore the preferences of young people and integrate fashion elements.

On the same day, Jiang Manzong not only brought two works of "Tiger Tiger Shengwei" and "Horse to Success" of the Dragon and Phoenix Qipao, but also introduced in detail a huge work made by the Jing'an District Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, the Jing'an District Cultural Center and the national intangible cultural heritage Dragon and Phoenix Qipao to celebrate the "100th anniversary of the founding of the Party". The work uses the "plate" technique in the hand-made of dragon and phoenix qipao, covering many red buildings located in Jing'an, such as the Memorial Hall of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Former Residence of Mao Zedong in Shanghai, the Exhibition Hall of the Former Site of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China Labor Union, historical buildings such as the Shanghai Exhibition Center, Paramount Gate, and Jing'an Temple, as well as the Jing'an Modern Drama Valley, the Shanghai International Tea Culture Festival and other Jing'an cultural tourism projects, which took 60 days to complete, which are exquisite and of extraordinary significance.

The "flower stick" brought by Wang Li, principal of Chaoyang Middle School, is a folk art that is said to date back to 3100 years ago, which is not only entertaining but also physically healthy. In the long river of history, this skill has existed in the court and has also been passed down to the people; it has been popular in the streets and alleys, and it has also stepped on large and small stages, and even gone out of the country.

Wang Li, as the inheritor, performed this stunt live. He introduced that "playing the flower stick" requires mental concentration and eye concentration, which is very beneficial to the internal and external cultivation of people of all ages. At first, the "flower stick" was still a non-genetic person who usually played with himself in the community, and occasionally a neighbor was interested, so he made props to give to others.

"Playing flower sticks" walked into Chaoyang Middle School

In 2014, "Playing Flower Sticks" entered Chaoyang Middle School. From the initial strangeness to today's love, "playing flower sticks" has blossomed everywhere on campus, and the results are gratifying. Wang Li first invited the "flower stick" master to teach, and then asked the physical education teacher to help expand the "flower stick" technique. Chaoyang Middle School also studied and formulated a set of grading standards, for example, 10 seconds of flower sticks do not land is the entry level, and then rise to the small level, the large level, the master level, the master level, the supreme level... Soon after the students get started, you catch up with me and start competing, and you can often see them playing between classes, and many supreme players have emerged. Wang Li laughed and said that it seems that the 1.0 version of the standards previously studied and formulated has not been able to keep up with the rapid progress of the children, and they must hurry to study and promote the 2.0 version.

"One Character Reading Club" is centered on the themes of the new era, the centenary of the founding of the party, civilization practice, family style and family training, etc., with the concept of "knowing words, knowing culture, and feeling civilization", aiming to spread red culture, Shanghai culture and Jiangnan culture among citizens, and help build Shanghai's urban cultural brand, "only take one word, straight to the essence of things". Since its inception in 2017, it has accumulated more than 40 words according to the different themes of each issue or the differences in the fields in which guests are engaged. The late Liu Guangning, a well-known performance artist, used "sound" as a theme word when she was a guest book club in 2018 to share the story of her book and dubbing career with readers.

Technology and Memory - Jing'an District Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition

Wang Zhihao, the person in charge, told reporters that the reason why the theme of this issue of the activity is "remembrance" is precisely to feel the charm of the intangible cultural heritage, evoke the memories of the past, and look forward to the future life on the occasion of the upcoming release of the book "Pearls on the Sea", during the Jing'an Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, and the important node of retiring the old and welcoming the new. ”
