In a corner of the second floor of the Art Museum of Shandong Academy of Arts and Crafts, there is a somewhat messy office. This is where Wang Ruiqing usually works. Underneath his office is an exhibition hall of more than 6,000 square meters, where major exhibitions are often held. He, the artist surrounded by art, cherished every exhibit in the pavilion, and even the empty booth knew where they were going.

Wang Ruiqing, who has passed the year of knowing his destiny, his fashionable dress and understanding of modern art make him look slightly different from other people who write and ink.

Young and crazy

Fortunately, you know it

When Wang Ruiqing was in middle school, books were still very precious things. He loves painting and is keen to scribble and paint on books. All the blank spaces in the books were painted by him with his favorite images and objects. Once, he clashed with his teacher because he was drawing in a textbook. The argument was a bit heated, attracting the attention of their English teacher. The English teacher asked the reason, looked through his books and said, "This is a talent, we must cultivate it well." ”

This English teacher is a noble person of Wang Ruiqing, known as Mrs. Xu, who has studied and lived in the country with her father since childhood, has seen a lot of knowledge, and cherishes talents. She not only affirmed the talent of the teenager and soothed the heart of the teenager, but also took Wang Ruiqing to Shanghai to see the exhibition and broaden her horizons. Later, she also helped Wang Ruiqing find a professional painting teacher.

"You must get out and get into a better school." Old Lady Xu's words were deeply engraved in Wang Ruiqing's mind. Shandong Academy of Arts and Crafts, Tsinghua University School of Fine Arts... After a long road of study, the entrustment of the teacher, and the pursuit of the heart, Wang Ruiqing worked tirelessly on the road of learning art. Persisted for decades. As he joked, "I am still a teenager, learning is endless, and the future can be expected." ”

Not in one corner

Don't stick to one end

August 8, 2008, a special day for the people of the whole country, opened the Beijing Olympic Games. For Wang Ruiqing personally, it is also a special day. His exhibition of Chinese art, Portraits and Deities, was held in Berlin, Germany, and it was his first exhibition abroad. Wang Ruiqing's wife had studied in Germany, and because of the matchmaking between his wife and another friend, he signed a contract with a German gallery before the exhibition.

This exhibition, for Wang Ruiqing, is just the beginning of "going out". Since then, he has held exhibitions in Bonn, Germany, Daegu, South Korea, Brussels, Belgium, Strasbourg, France, Luxembourg and other places. In the past two years, the epidemic has blocked his pace of "going out", but it cannot change his heart of obsession with art. "I can just calm down and think more, precipitate more, and paint some traditional things." Unusual, he often makes people think that he only understands art design and exhibition planning, and cannot paint. He wanted to take advantage of this period to present the other side of his traditional flower and bird painting to everyone.

Wang Ruiqing is multi-faceted, and the art he pursues is also multi-faceted. In his office, there are tools for his paintings, scrapers purchased from abroad, rubber rollers, small brooms with a local atmosphere... All kinds of tools, everything you need. He described his approach to art as "for my own use, by any means." In the abstract ink painting exhibition "Ink Desert" held by him, most of his works are a fusion of tradition and modernity, and are created in the form of pounding, ink accumulation and staining. On the road of pursuing art, he has always been willing to try and is not afraid of failure.

Don't forget your original intention

Curated for the times

Wang Ruiqing is not only an artist, but also a famous curator. Whenever he talks about curating, he always talks about it, and although the process is bitter, the results are satisfactory.

Weihai Milk Mountain Jiaodong Nursery is a project he planned and participated in throughout the process. Speaking of this project, he is very proud. "With Jiaodong Nursery, the stories of those unknown nursing mothers will be known by more people." In May 2016, he received the project. In order to better understand the group of nursing women, he talked to people who knew this group in the local area and tried to get more information. On the one hand, the work of the school, on the other hand, the project, he often traveled between the two places. He also painted a portrait of the nursing lady for the exhibition hall, and he was fully immersed in it, often touched by the story of the nursing mother.

He laughs at himself for being an eventful curator. Wang Ruiqing believes, "Only by moving yourself can you move others." "He once scolded people for not touching enough by the narrator. Don't forget the national shame, with gratitude, he hopes that the red education base of Jiaodong Nursery can benefit the local people and educate future generations, so he also planned the jiaodong nursery and the Mashishan Ten Warriors Memorial Hall together with the local red tourism route.

As a curator, Wang Ruiqing is serious and attentive. Following the Pavilions of Rushan Jiaodong Nursery, Weihai LiugongDao Donghong Fort, and the Provincial Party School "Don't Forget the Initial Heart, Remember the Mission", he made an exhibition about mothers - "The Light and Shadow of the Times • Tribute to Mother" video touring exhibition. He hopes that the people who see this exhibition will see a kind of looking back at their mothers, the attachment of teenagers to their mothers, and the warmth of touching the depths of their hearts.

Art, in his heart, is uncompromising, irrelevant to age and worldliness.

After thousands of sails, the original intention has not changed, and the heart is grateful, Wang Ruiqing, on the road of art, is willing to be a teenager.
