In 1934, in order to completely defeat the Red Army, the Kuomintang came up with a vicious idea - the Iron Barrel Project.
To put it simply, it is to use 12 divisions to carry out a harassing attack on the Red Army's base areas, and then use 1.5 million troops to surround the Red Army base areas and completely eliminate the Red Army's strength.
The 1.5 million troops are planned to travel 0.8 kilometers a day. For every 0.5 km they traveled, they set up a barbed wire fence around them; for every 5 km they traveled, they built a bunker.
Once their encirclement was formed, the Red Army was absolutely unable to escape under the layers of firepower.
But just when Chiang Kai-shek felt that victory was in his hands, the Red Army escaped under his eyes. And Chiang Kai-shek, apart from scolding and grinning, could not find any reason for the failure except to use "miracle" and "inconceivable" to explain.
In fact, the Red Army was able to escape smoothly and had a close relationship with a person, who was the legendary agent of the CCP, Lu Zhiying.
Lu Zhiying was born in 1905, his father taught in a private school, when he was a child, Lu Zhiying read with his father's students, in the process of reading, he understood a lot of truths, but also received new ideological education, so he had the idea of patriotism and salvation.
When he grew up, Lu Zhiying was admitted to an officer training center, and after graduation, he entered the warlord army. However, because he was not accustomed to the warlord style, he successively went to Zhengzhou and Luoyang, during which time he came into contact with Marxist ideas and gloriously joined the Communist Party of China.
In 1933, the Kuomintang mobilized hundreds of thousands of troops to encircle and intercept the Red Army, and the Red Army suffered serious losses.
In order to obtain intelligence and understand the dynamics of the enemy army, the organization arranged for Lu Zhiying to break into the enemy and work under another underground party member, Mo Xiong, the commander of the Nationalist security.
In order to gain the trust of Lao Jiang and obtain more core information, Lu Zhiying also planned and performed several big plays with Mo Xiong.
One day, Lu Zhiying sent a letter of information to Mo Xiong's headquarters, saying that the main force of the Red Army was passing through Northern Gan, and Mo Xiong led the army to pretend to "pursue."
After the Red Army "routed" and ambushed to safety, Mo Xiong released a few shots, but in fact he gave the guns and ammunition to the Red Army in this way.
Later, everywhere Mo Xiong went, the Red Army was "defeated." The good news flew to Chiang Kai-shek like a snowflake, and Mo Xiong took the outstanding battle record and asked Chiang Kai-shek for credit.
Although Chiang Kai-shek rewarded Mo Xiong, he did not really trust him. Later, in order to better monitor Mo Xiong, he sent the fierce secret agent Sheyev to be Mo Xiong's assistant. At the same time, Chen Cheng, deputy commander-in-chief of the "Suppression of the Communists," and Kang Ze, the head of the secret service, were also in the Linchuan area where Mo Xiong was located.
Lu Zhiying took the initiative to get close to Sheev and threw himself into his favor, and soon gained Sheev's trust.
At that time, there was a group of bandits in the northern Ganbei region, led by a group called Yu Zuolong. Chen Chengkangze's many unsuccessful attacks were unsuccessful, and he was reprimanded by his superiors. Lu Zhiying found that this was a good opportunity to get close to Chen Chengkangze, so he took the initiative to take over the task of suppressing bandits.
Lu Zhiying posted notices in the streets and alleys, and recruited soldiers and horses from all walks of life. Yu Zuolong was also seriously injured in years of fighting, so he sent his deputy men down the hill to inquire about the news.
Lu Zhiying warmly entertained the deputy, and at the recommendation of the deputy, he talked with Yu Zuolong very happily, persuading him to accept the reorganization of the nationalist army, and he could lead the army and be paid and added to the rank of knight. Yu Zuolong was indeed moved, but when he took the people and horses to accept the adaptation the next day, he was swept away.
This gang of bandits was suppressed, and Lu Zhiying also became Chen Chengkangze's guest of honor. In this way, Lu Zhiying gradually cleared all the obstacles around him, laying the foundation for him to save the fate of the Red Army later.
The nails that Chiang Kai-shek planted around Mo Xiong were subdued by Lu Zhiying one by one. All Chiang Kai-shek heard were words of praise for Mo Xiong, and after a long time, he put his mind at ease.
Chiang Kai-shek used Mo Xiong more heavily. When formulating the fifth "Iron Barrel Plan" for the encirclement and suppression of the Communists, Mo Xiong was not qualified to participate in the meeting, but because of his outstanding military achievements, he was invited to participate in an exceptional manner.
Mo Xiong was surprised to see the iron barrel plan, and told Lu Zhiying as soon as he returned.
According to the Iron Barrel Plan, it would take only 6 months for the 1.5 million Kuomintang troops to reach Ruijin, the headquarters of the Red Army, forcing the Red Army to engage them in a frontal battle.
At that time, although the Red Army fought many victorious battles, it did not have many heavy weapons with strong lethality, and it was easy to suffer losses on the front. If the Iron Barrel Project succeeded, the Red Army was likely to suffer a devastating blow.
Mo Xiong secretly got the detailed plan of the iron barrel plan, but how to send the information to the Party Central Committee became a problem.
Finally, Lu Zhiying excerpted the main points, first sent a telegram to the Party Central Committee for a brief report, and then sent the detailed documents to the base area, but the comrades who sent the documents had to go through more than 20 checkpoints on the road, how could they be safely delivered?
Lu Zhiying thought about it and thought of the Xinhua Dictionary. It is a reference book that does not easily arouse the suspicion of the enemy army. He copied the documents densely into the Xinhua Dictionary with a secret writing potion, and copied 4 Xinhua dictionaries.
When the leaders of the Party Central Committee got these 4 Xinhua dictionaries and learned of the iron barrel plan, they were surprised. At this time, there were only 10 days left before the Nationalist army completed the siege!
Three days later, on October 10, 1934, 86,000 Red Army troops jumped out of the encirclement circle from the gap in the Kuomintang army and began an emergency strategic shift, which is known as the Long March. It was this Long March that gave the Red Army a glimmer of life.
Chairman Mao also sighed and said, "The Red Army has been saved, and Lu Zhiying has made indispensable contributions." ”
Of course, in addition to sending the "Iron Barrel Project" safely to the organization, Lu Zhiying also watched his children die at the hands of the enemy for the victory of the revolution.
Once, Lu Zhiying was ordered to send an army to the Yunnan-Guizhou border, and on the way he met his wife Zhang Yumin, who came to look for him. Not long ago, Zhang Yumin had just given birth to twins, and she brought one of the children to find a husband.
However, before the couple could say a few words, the scouts reported that the enemy had caught up.
Afraid of the exposure of comrades, Lu Zhiying quickly led people to run towards the mountain, but the child's cries could not be stopped.
The child's cries drew the enemy over. Seeing that they were about to be exposed, Lu Zhiying told everyone to hide separately, and then hung the child in a bag of clothes, hung it on the tree, and used the child's cry to lure away the enemy.
Soon, a gunshot rang out from the valley where the child was. The warriors were safe, but Lu Zhiying's children died at the gunpoint of the enemy.
Without Lu Zhiying and them, the fate of the Chinese Red Army could have been rewritten.
In that era, many martyrs paid the price of their lives for us to enjoy today's peace, and even sacrificed their children and relatives. We must not forget their sacrifices, let alone the heroic souls who support the backbone of the nation!
The Anti-Japanese War broke out and Shanghai fell, and the Japanese army supported the Wang Jingwei puppet regime in Nanjing. Lu Zhiying also risked his life to set up an intelligence system in Shanghai and spy on intelligence in the enemy's center.
At that time, the underground party organization of our army could not penetrate into the enemy army for a while.
At this time, Lu Zhiying noticed a message that the Japanese army had concentrated all the European and American expatriates living in Shanghai in a place called Yangshupu, which was a forbidden area of the Japanese army and was used to restrict their movements.
These European and American expatriates had to eat 3,000 pounds of bread a day in Yangshupu, and Shanghai at that time could not supply so much bread, and the Japanese army was also troubled by this.
Lu Zhiying decided to open a bread factory as a cover to obtain intelligence. Through a friend relationship, he met with the then Commander of the Japanese Navy, Hojima, and presented a generous gift, gained Hojima's favor and got the approval for setting up a factory.
Lu Zhiying's bread factory is called Hufeng Bakery, located opposite the Tilanqiao Prison on Dongyang Road. Hiding in the dark of the factory gate, you can see the prison car entering and leaving, and you can learn the number of comrades arrested on the car and some identity information.
It was also the center of the Japanese exclusion zone. Lu Zhiying's 4 bread sellers are all underground party members, and they have the disguise of delivery, and they can easily pass through the Japanese forbidden area and inquire about the Japanese military defense situation.
A steady stream of information was transmitted from Lu Zhiying, and thus saved many Red Army soldiers and made countless contributions to the revolution.
Later, Lu Zhiying also persuaded Baodao to surrender.
Once, Lu Zhiying visited the Baodao Mansion and saw that Baodao was depressed and sighed from time to time.
Lu Zhiying asked with concern the reason, it turned out that the Soviet Communist Party had won a complete victory, which caused a great shock to the Japanese army.
Seizing on this point, Lu Zhiying persuaded BaoDao to think of a good way to retreat, not to fight Chinese, and in the future he would try to save Baodao. Bao Dao was grateful and walked closer to Lu Zhiying.
Later, Lu Zhiying also drove a car on Baodao Island to deliver ammunition and supplies and medicine to the New Fourth Army.
It was not until the end of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression that BaoDao learned that his "old friend" Lu Zhiying was actually an underground party member.
But Bao Dao did not hate Lu Zhiying, but was full of admiration for his spirit of giving up his life and forgetting his life for the country. He even gave all the weapons and military supplies of his headquarters to Lu Zhiying and asked him to transfer them to the New Fourth Army.
Later, in the Liberation War, this batch of materials from the Japanese army played a huge role. However, Lu Zhiying did not regard himself as a hero, but used his previously accumulated contacts to once again risk death and mix into the camp of the national army.
In this way, Lu Zhiying continued to mediate between the Nationalist army and the Central Command, and spied a lot of useful intelligence for our army, many of which was extremely valuable information.
In this way, Lu Zhiying was born and died again and again, or rather, he had already put life and death aside. The early liberation of China and the early living of people are perhaps the greatest expectation in his heart.
It is regrettable that Lu Zhiying did not see the founding of New China and fell before dawn.
In 1947, due to the betrayal of traitors, Lu Zhiying was unfortunately arrested. Along with him, he was arrested by his wife and children.
Chiang Kai-shek was overjoyed to hear of Lu Zhiying's arrest, rewarded the agents who arrested Lu Zhiying, and sent officials to persuade Lu Zhiying to surrender. But what he didn't expect was that Lu Zhiying didn't enter the oil and salt.
They severely tortured Lu Zhiying, using pepper water, fire, electric chairs, and other cruel tortures, torturing Lu Zhiying to urinate and blood, and fainting to death. But they didn't get a word out of Lu Zhiying's mouth.
They lured and persuaded Lu Zhiying to surrender, and promised Lu Zhiying various high-ranking officials Houlu. But Lu Zhiying scoffed.
They threatened the lives of Lu Zhiying's wife and children and wanted to soften him with affection, but lu Zhiying refused again.
Hard does not work, soft does not work, the enemy finally admitted that he was helpless in front of Lu Zhiying. In December 1948, at the age of 43, Lu Zhiying was knocked unconscious by the enemy and secretly buried under the Yuhua platform.
Since then, Lu Zhiying has disappeared from the world. After liberation, the unsuspecting wife and son were still struggling to find him.
In early 1951, the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau captured an agent who confessed that several "political prisoners" had been executed. Through the comparison of photos, he recognized one of them as Lu Zhiying.
According to the location provided by the agents, the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau dug up three coffins. The body was highly decomposed, leaving only bones bare in the wind.
However, his wife Zhang Yumin still recognized her husband at a glance. The coffin containing the bones has a lot of wear and tear, and it is a trace of desperate struggle. The forensic doctor said that Lu Zhiying was still alive when he was buried, but he woke up in the coffin but could not get out, and finally suffocated.
In order to let the motherland have a bright future, so that the people will no longer suffer, he himself fell before the dawn and was buried in the darkest corner.
The bones of the martyr Lu Zhiying were moved to the Yuhuatai Martyrs' Cemetery and accepted by thousands of people to pay respects.
His wife, who continued to work as a doctor after liberation, devoted her life to the people in obscurity. His son Lu Da Rong became an expert in nuclear physics and made great contributions to the nuclear cause of the motherland.
A loyal martyr.
In that war-torn era, many unknown martyrs like Lu Zhiying sacrificed themselves for our happy life today.
They buried all their suffering behind themselves, leaving us with light and happiness. With the weight of their years of moving forward, they have exchanged for today's quiet years.
