Posey's friend Beckham retired and joked: We're going to the Hall of Fame together

One major league star announced his retirement after two years without a game, and gordon Beckham, longtime White Sox second baseman, announced his retirement last night.

In his statement, Beckham wrote, "After my good friend Buster Posey decided to retire, I had plans to retire together this year, and I wanted the two of us to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and start counting down"! Apparently, Beckham, who has a career WAR value of just 5.5, is joking.

Beckham was selected by the White Sox in the eighth round in the 2008 draft, and in 2009 he was a top 20 rookie and made his major league debut in mid-season, playing only 59 minor league games before that.

In 2009, the 22-year-old Beckham debuted at the peak, paying .270/.347/.460 hits and rounds with 430 hits, knocking out 14 hits and 28 second-base hits, and finishing fifth in the rookie king vote at the end of the season.

For the next four years, Beckham sat firmly in the white sox, paying .240/.299/.359 in 2467 plays, and in August 2014, he was sold by the white sox to the Angels, and in 26 games in Anaheim, Beckham's hit three-time was .268/.328/.429, and his performance in the playoffs was also outstanding, but at the end of the season, Beckham, who was still in control, was chosen by the Angels not to change contracts, and he returned to the White Sox as a free agent.

Then David Beckham became a ronin, playing for the Giants and Warriors in 2016, he put on the Mariners' jersey in 2017 and 2018, he went to Detroit in 2019, and then in the Padres and Mets, he only had minor league appearances and did not appear in major leagues again.

The Atlanta-born player has not been selected to the All-Star Game, has a 11-time major league career, his strikes are .237/.300/.367 and 80 booms, and he has been the team's standing main force most of the time, hoping that his life after retirement can be enjoyable.
