Kerstin Dunst on The Power of Dogs: "When I was in my early 20s, Jane Campion wrote me a letter saying she was going to collaborate on a film based on Alice Monroe's short story Escape, which didn't come to fruition, but I kept that letter on my phone. Jane and I actually had the same birthday (we were 28 years apart), so it was a bit of a destiny. ”

"She's always been one of my favorite filmmakers, and when Canine Force came to me, it was my husband, Jesse Plemont, who received the script first. Before he read it, I thought: 'You need to be in this movie, you have to act in a Jane Campion movie.' So the way it happened, Jesse got the role in the movie first. ”

"I didn't audition for Canine Force, campion really liked Lars von Trier's 2011 film Melancholy. She also joked, 'You just have to act as well as you did in [Melancholy],' and I said, 'Okay, Jane, it's a completely different role, but I'll do my best to play it.' ’”
