●Recently, Bai Wenming Research Group, a researcher at the Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, took 32 common plants in the typical grasslands of Inner Mongolia as the research object, and revealed the changes of root structure and function with root level of typical grassland plants in Inner Mongolia from the perspective of root anatomy, as well as the trade-off strategies of root absorption and transport of monocotyledonous plants and dicotyledonous plants. This study provides theoretical support for understanding the root structure and function of herbaceous plants. The results of the study have been published online in New Phytologist.
