According to Cavaliers reporter Kelsey Russo, sources revealed that the Cavaliers received $8.9 million worth of injury exceptions due to Rubio's season reimbursement.
The deadline for the use of this injury exception is March 11.
Rubio has previously suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, and so far this season, Rubio has played in 34 games, averaging 28.3 minutes per game, having 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.4 steals, and shooting 33.9% from three-point range.
