The School of Cultural Heritage of Northwest University, in cooperation with the Qinling Museum, published the latest research results in the international authoritative journal Archaeometry. Researchers have discovered a new multi-purpose composite material on the Qin Terracotta Warriors, which is widely used in the process of filling, bonding, and wiping in the production of terracotta warriors. Researchers said that in the past archaeological excavations of the Qinling Terracotta Warriors and Horses Pit, they found this material in many parts of the crown and arms of the pottery figurines, including the abdomen and legs of the pottery horses. The latest research findings provide a new basis for understanding the production process of the Terracotta Army and the protection and restoration work.
