DARKNESS
In fact, if you want to talk about it, the Guardians have already had contact with the darkness more than once in the plot. For example, the annotation of bug sniper and a generation of game suicide guns. There is also information including that written in Year 2, The Truth of Power. And ideas like the 'traveler skepticism' are nothing new. Both within the Holy City and independent researchers such as Osiris are trying to explore the nature and mysteries of darkness. Ulan-Tan, for example, proposes the so-called 'symmetry theory', while others like Tolan use more radical means... In this way, we can actually say that more and more guardians are beginning to contact and begin to understand the so-called 'darkness'. Include their knowledge, their abilities and, most importantly: the thoughts held by the dark side.
So, as the plot progresses. The stick chicken finally came with a positive response. In the book "Disclosure" in Year 3, the information obtained once a week has been clearly stated that it is directly from the 'darkness'. This is the first time in the plot. And this book does indeed elaborate some very intriguing content. So today we will analyze this legend in detail chapter by chapter, trying to explain what the so-called 'darkness' is.
Here we go.
Unveiling
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" >1: Nice to meet you</h1>
(Darkness does represent another kind of existence.)
The initial chapter is still relatively easy to understand. After all, after looking at the whole picture, we find that the purpose of 'darkness' is actually to pull the awkward temples against the water. Therefore, it is necessary to use some simple and understandable theories to lead people to the Tao at the beginning. This chapter deals with a very simple problem: darkness is part of the foundation of the universe. Where there is light, there is darkness, and where there is life, there is death. Darkness does not deny that he does not entertain. Because we, the creatures, are certainly inclined to be alive, or 'existing'. And at the end, one is given: what would happen if things were only alive and not dead? assumptions. And obviously, this is not a good thing.
<h1 class= "pgc-h-arrow-right" >2: Gardener and Field Worker</h1>
(The traveler is a manifestation of light energy but not necessarily light energy itself)
From the second chapter onwards, the article enters the main topic, and at the same time it begins to become a little obscure. Of course, this is also a must. First of all, we don't need to read this book to understand that in the Destiny Universe, 'light energy' and 'shadows' are the most basic settings and concepts that make up the game universe. Such a concept may predate the universe in the game. If we want to explain this 'chaotic unopened' situation, it is unlikely that we will not make some metaphors and borrowings. The "gardener" and "yangchange" in this chapter obviously refer to the most basic 'light energy' and 'shadow'. And the reason why 'they exist because they must exist' is also well understood: they are the basic settings that make up the universe and must exist. Then, the division of labor between the two also tells us more intuitively the identity of the two of them: the 'gardener' is responsible for sowing existence, responsible for 'birth'. The 'yangchang worker' is responsible for harvesting the gardener's creation, eliminating the inappropriate results, and is responsible for 'eliminating'. Then it is clear that the 'gardener' represents light energy. And 'Yangchanggong' represents the shadow.
And in particular, there is a reference to a 'tree with silver wings'. This thing is also mentioned in Titan Gold MK.44, and if you are interested, you can read it.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" >3: The Flower Game</h1>
(Life Game: Planter Structure)
At the end of the previous chapter, the 'gardener' and 'field worker' in the article, that is, light energy and shadow, began to play the 'game of looking to the future'. Well, that's normal, after all things always have to develop. So they set the rules of the game and began to wait and see. This game is actually the very famous 'Conway Life Game'. It is a cellular automaton invented by the British mathematician Conway in 1970. This game, or model, was first used to study non-von Neumann's computer design, which belongs to the mathematical and computer science communities. But later scientists found that this model also has great research value in biology, because the real situation of life activity is very similar to this cellular automata. The most amazing thing here is that this game of life recursively forms huge structures from small structures: just like evolving from primitive single cells to tissue-organ-system and finally becoming complex life. So the stick chicken here refers to the rules of Conway's game of life, which is actually a hint at the process by which light and shadow created the original life in the destiny universe. And including the 'pulse' or 'glider' mentioned in the text, it is a stable structure formed in the realistic Conway Life game. And from these stable individuals, once again form a larger individual to society, society to civilization process. This is the "shape of the future" they envisioned at the end of the previous chapter. And the 'flower' in the text obviously refers to 'life'.
And at the end of this chapter there is a pun on wordplay. "And in time the gardener became vexed", which translates to "So in the end, the gardener became Vex". It's still not very accurate here, because as destiny players, our first reaction when we mention vex is definitely those robots in the game. But in fact vex itself is also a word that means 'to make distressed, to make angry'. I think in the pun here, the meaning of 'the gardener becomes distressed' is greater than the meaning of 'the gardener becomes vex'...
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" >4: Final shape</h1>
(The structure of the game of life will eventually tend to be stable and unified)
Thus, the variables appeared. Because gardeners find that the game they play always ends up in a fixed style. Here I'm not too sure if this 'style' refers to the 'form' in Conway's Game of Life. Because there are already about a dozen or twenty stable or dynamic forms that conform to the rules of the game in the real life game. So I tend to understand this 'style' as a broader 'life' or 'some social structure' or a more abstract 'ideology'. But we don't need to get to the bottom of it here, we just need to understand that the gardener is very distressed by the 'final solution' of the game. For this final solution "exists for the sole purpose of being to accommodate all other existential purposes." The only thing that exists at their center is the will to continue to exist" In short: the ultimate form of this 'purpose of existence remains only exists' obliterates the meaning of the existence of other forms, and makes the game lose its diversity. And this is too boring for the gardener in charge of creation, that is, light energy. To this end, he made a decision: to introduce new rules.
In addition, I find that this 'final form' description is so much like the 'blade theory'?
<h1 class= "pgc-h-arrow-right" >5: The first dagger</h1>
(I can light up without hanging!) )
Ok, then the problem comes to the Yangchanggong side.
Apparently, what the gardener wanted to do was 'create a new rule' that ruined the original flower game gameplay. However, for YangchangGong, that is, Shadow, he did not have any dissatisfaction with the original rules of the game and the outcome of the game. And what the gardener is about to do is completely contrary to the work of the yangchang worker: it is clear that a new existence that is not bound by the original rules should be classified as 'error/failure', and the work content of the yangchang worker is obviously to be eliminated. But now because of the gardener/light energy, the field worker/shadow can't complete this task. So what follows is a natural conflict...
As a result, the gardener, as the 'nurturer and preservation of complexity', adds himself to the rules of the game. Naturally, the yang field worker as the corresponding surface is also brought into the game. The conflict between light and shadow begins...
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right">6:P53</h1>
(P53 Protein)
This passage can basically be seen as Shadow's defense of itself. The logic of shadow is explained in the case of the 'your root race', the human body. Combined with the previous article, it is not difficult to answer the last question: "Is P53 an agent of light or shadow" Obviously, it's Shadow.
How to understand this idea? Let's first briefly explain what the P53 is. P53 is a group of proteins in the human body. The most familiar is the anti-cancer effect, but fundamentally the P53 protein plays a role in maintaining THE INTEGRITY OF DNA and repairing DNA when it is damaged. Inhibits angiogenesis, initiates apoptosis when DNA cannot be repaired ... In short, the role of the P53 protein is to keep the body's system stable and prevent cell mutation. Frankly speaking, if Shadow compares itself to P53, I don't think you will feel that there is anything wrong with its existence when you read it here. But here's the key point. From the perspective of the overall system, the P53 maintains the integrity of the human system and the Shadow maintains the integrity of the Flower Game system. But if you start from the perspective of mutant cells or the new rules of the gardener in the flower game, then P53/Shadow is a being who is chasing me to death, and obviously becomes a villain.
This paragraph is equivalent to an intuitive exposition of the core of the light and shadow conflict: the conflict between the heterogeneous in the system and the performers who maintain the integrity of the system. And we, the resurrected agents of light energy, these 'unconstrained' existences have obviously become something like mutated cancer cells. Naturally, it became a 'need to clean up' goal.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right">7:T=0</h1>
(The Big Bang is currently the dominant theory)
T is often used in physics to express 'magnetic induction intensity', then T = 0 is also a magnetic induction intensity of 0. I think this refers to the stable state in this garden of life before the Big Bang. But after the gardener and the yangchang worker turn themselves into the rules of the game and clash. This equilibrium was then upset, and the Big Bang occurred.
This is the starting point of the universe we are in the game. Matter is truly born at this moment, and what existed in the garden of life before it should actually be understood as a more abstract 'concept'. And we can also notice that many of the original beings in the garden also came to a wider reality space with the Big Bang. Some of the details here may also hint at the origins of other big men in the universe. For example, does the mention of "worm" refer to the dark worm god? And do some other metaphors also hint at the existence of such high positions as 'Jiu' or 'Ahhankara'?
All in all, with the Big Bang. In addition to the 'Gardener/Light Energy' and 'Fieldwork/Shadow', which have evolved into basic laws, the 'style' in the original Flower Game has also come to the real space. And they naturally develop towards their original purpose of 'life'.
<h1 class = "pgc-h-arrow-right" >8: Cambrian explosion</h1>
(The Cambrian explosion is not fully explained at this time.)
This chapter may seem scary (and very provocative), but I personally feel less powerful than the last dark self-defense. After all, we understand that the role of this book is that Shadow wants to pull the Guardian against the water. Therefore, it is natural to make some subversive and inflammatory theories. But does this theory really hold water?
Let's go back and sort out the evolution of Shadow/Fieldwork again. Originally, the Yangchang workers in the Garden of Life were responsible for the 'Harvest and End' unsuccessful life forms. But through many deductions from the Flower Game, Yang Believes that he has found the most standard and complete 'final form' of life: this form will win the Flower Game or 'rule the universe' in real space by eroding and plundering other forms. But the 'Light Energy/Gardener' was disappointed with the form and tried to create new rules to change the ending of the flower game. Shadow/Field Worker, as the defender of the old rules, naturally opposes the gardener's approach. And began to practice the theory of the 'final form' through itself: to ensure its own survival by ending/harvesting others.
So let's look at the conclusion that "we were created by darkness" is reasonable?
The answer is both reasonable and unreasonable.
In the description of this chapter, Shadow states that the reason for the Cambrian explosion was that the original single-celled life one day discovered that by plundering/harvesting other life, it could more effectively improve its own growth/development/absorption... In short: chances of survival. And this is precisely the logic of the 'final form' held by shadow. So, from that point of view. It seems that it is indeed the logic held by shadow that contributed to the evolution of life on Earth, eventually forming the root race of the Guardians: humans.
But here, Shadow omits one of the most crucial processes in the process of expression. Let's focus on this passage: "Some poor mutant discovery." Where's the point: 'variation'. Obviously, if it is in the original 'original soup' form. The original single-celled organisms will obviously remain in this equilibrium. It was the emergence of 'mutation' that contributed to the subsequent series of results. And isn't this 'mutation/mutation/birth' the mission and responsibility of light energy?
So it's clear that Shadow can certainly be said to have 'plundered/harvested' thoughts that have contributed to the evolution of life. But one of the most important actions in this process comes from the way that 'light energy' holds: innovation/variation/creation. The birth and development of life can be said to have the characteristics of both at the same time, which also shows from the side that the two have indeed become part of the logic of the real universe. It is incomplete to simply say which side of life is the creation.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" >9: Style Falls</h1>
The content of this chapter is relatively simple. It basically elaborates on the development of the 'style' in the early flower game in the nascent real universe. That's what we learned in textbooks: from inorganic to organic, from simple to complex...
Two points are worth noting:
1. The 'style' that was bound to win in the flower game has become unknown with the personal arrival of light energy/shadow. In the real universe, they may not necessarily be the final winners.
2. The original 'forms' have developed a variety of (life) forms, and some of them follow the light energy, and the other part also "finds the way home".
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" >10: Bet</h1>
(There are also rebels among the Guardians))
Well, the front has been laid for so long. It's finally going to be the end. In this chapter, darkness is officially showdown. Throws his 'existentialism' to you. It means 'those who cannot remain exist should not exist'. What does this mean? In fact, it is to justify the behavior of the 'final form' in the flower game: you are weak, you are born to be destroyed. It goes on to 'those who didn't exist in the first place actually belong to the same moral category'. While instilling the principle of the weak and the strong, it further reduces the guilt caused by plundering/killing. Finally, back to the logic of the final form in the Flower Game. Correspondingly, the logic of light energy is also expounded: as long as there is power beyond substance and trust in absolute freedom, people will choose to establish and protect a noble kingdom surrounded by spears. And will not be tempted.
At the same time, we must point out that 'existence' here does not only refer to the existence of material forms, but can be expanded into abstract concepts such as 'theory', 'spirit', and 'philosophy'. The logic held by light energy and shadows can also be counted in this way.
And for us guardians, these super-causal products produced by light energy. Darkness also has its own opinion. For darkness, it has understood that in this universe where the rules have changed due to the intervention of light energy/shadow. The 'final form' born of the flower game may not be able to achieve the final victory. Thus, the logic held by switching to the 'final pattern' becomes another method of victory. Under such a thought, as long as you kill your cleverness and return to the original game logic, then the guardian who should not exist can also act as the executor of dark logic. After all, 'as long as you can stay there, then you exist', and sometimes the way to win doesn't necessarily have to prove that I'm right, it just proves that you're wrong.
Well, after the narrative of the above multiple chapters. Which side are you more inclined to support?
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" >11: Trust and Hope</h1>
(Eris or Sanguanzheng)
There is nothing special about the last chapter. It is the story's paraphrasing of Ellis's view of the book. Ellis believes that shadows do have a self-justifying theory, and perhaps light and shadow are indeed balanced and balanced. But 'balance does not equal equality'. In the face of shadows, rebellion is the balance. And I agree with her.
A balanced world does not mistakenly perceive the excitement of sin or the cruel inevitability of illegal invasion as an act of true justice. - The lightless negative light, Ellis Moen
Fearlessly questioning our deepest beliefs is a sign of self-esteem. But if you jump into a bucket of plutonium salt and still call it self-exploration, you are stupid. - Reality Society Warlock, Elena-3
These lines are very wonderful. I loved it.
