According to The Whole Market, Newcastle offered Chelsea £40 million in hopes of signing Blues striker Broja, but the latter was reluctant to sell it in the winter window.

It was previously rumored that Southampton intended to sign it for £25 million. Chelsea sent Broia on loan to Southampton last summer for a one-season period, with no buyout clause included in the deal.

So far this season, the 20-year-old Broia "child car dream" from the Blues' youth camp. He played 21 games for Southampton this season, contributing seven goals and one assist for 1,229 minutes.

According to the 2021 Forbes Global Rich List, Chelsea boss Abu is worth $14.5 billion. However, the consortium behind their rival Newcastle, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), has a wealth of as high as 700 billion pounds.
