Madrid, 25 Jan (People's Daily Online) -- Blanco, president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, said in a meeting with Yao Fei, minister counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Spain, on 24 January that the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics is imminent, and Spanish Winter Olympic athletes are ready to show their skills on the field. The Spanish Olympic Committee firmly supports the successful holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics as scheduled and opposes the politicization of sports. China has rich experience and preparation in epidemic control, and its closed-loop management measures are strict and meticulous, safe and effective, and I believe that China will certainly be able to dedicate a safe, successful and wonderful Olympic Games to the world.
Yao Fei thanked President Blanco and the Spanish Olympic Committee for their firm support for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and wished the Spanish Winter Olympic athletes good results in Beijing.
