Strange Shape is an American science fiction film directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley and others. The film tells the story of an alien lifeform that was discovered by the Antarctic expedition team, began to invade any lifeform and copied this lifeform, and began to kill innocents indiscriminately, in order to find out and prevent this creature from running out of the Antarctic, and the story of a big war.

This film released in 1982 did not use any screams, did not use the usual routines of ghost films, only used the sound of monsters and some original sounds to gain favor, more importantly, the monster model production is very disgusting, people feel very different from the species on the earth at a glance, but in the end, it is not a thriller, nor is it a horror film, on thriller, it does not have any startled dubbing, on horror, it can't achieve that effect. There is also a prequel to "Strange Shape", but it is more than a decade later than the release of "Strange Shape". "Strange Shape Prequel" tells the story before the destruction of the American research station, that is, it takes place at the Norwegian research station, a group of Norwegians find the frozen strange body and prepare to take it back to study, the result of the strange shape died and revived the story of the Norwegian research station and the scientific expedition team. Interestingly, no matter what scene in "Strange Prequel" can be compared to "Strange Shape". For example, in the main biography, the protagonist McRady and the doctor find a huge ice cube and a double-headed charred corpse at the Norwegian research station, which is the ice cube and the strange replica that breaks the strange shape. The final scene is when the surviving Norwegian expedition team pilots a plane to hunt an infected Eskimo dog, and they hunt all the way to the American expedition station, which is the scene at the beginning of the zhengchuan.

When John Carpenter directed a horror film for the first time, he said, "My style is weird, but I hope to be recognized." Maybe my horror film has sci-fi, but I hope it doesn't turn into a heavy sci-fi film. For his team, John Carpenter is a more fanciful person.
