The first two issues introduce angels in the Bible (angels in paintings) and "winged men" in Greek mythology (Cupid and the Maiden, winged figures in Greek mythology), and this issue appreciates the fairy fairy in art.
There are many myths and folklore in different cultural regions of the West, and with differences in language and translation, legendary creatures such as fairies, goblins, and elves are easily confused, and of course, they can sometimes be interchanged.
To make a simple distinction, fairies and goblins have wings, while elves do not. Fairy is petite, with butterfly or dragonfly wings, and possesses magical and supernatural abilities. Derived from Norse mythology, Elf is beautiful and tall, with pointed ears and excellent archery skills, and lives deep in the forest. There are other goblins, elves (such as Goblin), who are ugly or funny, wear pointed hats and shoes, and live in the underground world. However, we generally do not distinguish between the above creatures and call all the above creatures elves.

02. A Midsummer Night's Dream
Since the Middle Ages, elves have often appeared in literary works, and elf legends are particularly popular in Ireland and Scotland. But it was Shakespeare who really associated elves with magic. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare created a dream world full of elves and goblins. The eloping lover flees to the forest, where a group of elves live deep within the forest, who have the magic of manipulating and playing with love. The two couples and elves spark a string of romantic comedies.
The famous fairy painter John Simmons recreates A Midsummer Night's Dream. There are goblins resting on leaves, goblins riding on rabbits, and goblins controlling rat-pulled carts. The dewdrops on the branches and leaves and the red fruits are crystal clear and lifelike.

03. Fairy Tale Elves
For children in the West, the fairy godmother, the tooth fairy and Peter Pan are the pillow stories of childhood. For children's artists, the fairy world is a world where imaginations run wild. Flowers, mushrooms, dew, grass, cobwebs, everything in nature constitutes a fairytale wonderland of fairy tale picture books and illustrations.
