author:Shoko Uncle Mythical Reasoner

The footprints of three giants carved in front of the temple of Ain Dara, northwest of Aleppo, Syria, where the main purpose and significance of their appearance remain a mystery to scholars.

Evidence that giants have ever appeared

It is said that there is evidence of giants appearing on earth all over the world, and that a very small proportion of alien races that lived on earth in ancient times have only been regarded as myths by many scholars and authors, and perhaps these huge human races have been misunderstood as "gods".

Aindara is a small village in northwestern Aleppo, Syria, known for its quite a few impressive buildings, one of which is the Temple of Aindara, located just to the west of the village, which was accidentally discovered in 1955 when a huge basalt lion was discovered, and as a result of this discovery, excavations took place in the following years, unveiling fascinating historical works.

It is said that the temple of Aindara dates back to the Hittite culture of the Iron Age, and the Syrian-Hittites or Neo-Hittites of Syria are a group of political entities that were integrated after the fall of the Western Empire in the late millennium of the second century BC, and the Syrian State of West Taiwan filled the political gap and became the dominant force in the region. They were not conquered by the Neo-Assyrian Empire until the end of the eighth century BC.

The mystery of the huge footprints

With numerous discoveries in Aindara, experts are still unable to determine the deity enshrined in the temple, and the large number of sculptures and bas-reliefs on the walls of the temple makes it extremely difficult for scholars to decide which deity to dedicate.

However, there is much more to see before getting a glimpse of the beauty of the temple's interior. Before arriving at the temple, you will first see a pair of huge barefoot footprints that are said to have been carved into the stone floor, which surprised experts and tourists alike.

Interestingly, there is a third huge footprint not far from the first two footprints that are engraved on the floor, almost suggesting that one should go there, so why engrave these huge footprints? And why three numbers?

What do these footprints mean? Do they represent gods? Were they placed there for artistic reasons? Or do they represent more powerful messages?

What these huge footprints should represent is still unknown, with some scholars arguing that they were actually animal footprints, while others believe they represented the footprints of gods.

Or these huge footprints measuring a length of about a meter, intended to be representatives of the portraits of the gods, these footprints may be carved to illustrate the existence of local divinity, they entered the temple, approaching the throne in the inner sanctum.

Some archaeologists speculate that since there are so many sculptures of the goddess Ishtar and the ancient Su-American belief, Ba'al Haddad, the wind god, adorned the walls, this huge footprint may belong to one of the gods in the temple, except that they are all described as wearing shoes with curled toes.

Imprints of ancient times

It is also believed that these footprints have a completely different interpretation, because many other footprints have been found all over the world, which reminds us that in ancient times when the gods walked on the earth and made the whole earth shake under their feet.

In addition, another interesting feature of the Temple of Aindara is that it is similar to the biblical description of the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem. It is said that the architectural plans, sizes and decorations of the two temples are similar.

"One temple affects another", and before coming to this conclusion, it should be mentioned that there are also some temples in the area that are comparable to the temples of Aindara and Solomon.

These temples are Ebla, Emar and Munbaqa. Therefore, it is said that these temples may belong to a broader cultural tradition that ruled the region during that period.

The myths of the surrounding area certainly indicate that the giants, demigods and gods roamed the land at that time and left their mark.
