Synopsis
During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Yang Jikang, a servant of the household department, was dissatisfied with Yan Song's dictatorship and wanted to return to his hometown. On the sixtieth birthday, the daughters and sons-in-law entered Beijing to pay homage to the birthday and compete to welcome the two elders to spend their old age.
The poor third daughter Yang Sanchun and the third son-in-law Zou Yinglong, who had great ambitions, came to pay respects to Shou and were treated coldly because of their thin etiquette.
