Selfish giants

author:Old Hu with a dream

Every afternoon, when they were out of school, the children often went to play in the giant's garden.

It was a large garden, with green grass, and the meadow was full of beautiful flowers like stars, and there were twelve peach trees, and in the spring they blossomed with delicate pink pearlescent flowers, and in the autumn they bore fruitful fruits, and the birds sat on the trees and sang so melodiously that the children used to stop their games to listen to them.

One day the giant returned, and he went to visit his friend Ogre and stayed with him for seven years, and seven years had passed, and all he had to say, for his limited conversation, he decided to go back to his castle, and when he arrived he saw the children playing in the garden.

'What are you doing here?' He shouted in a very rude voice, and the children ran away.

"My own garden is my own garden," said the giant; "anyone can understand this, and I will not allow anyone but myself to participate in it" So he built a high wall around it and posted a notice board, and the intruder would be prosecuted, and he was a very selfish giant.

Poor kids have nowhere to play now, they try to play on the road, but the road is dusty and full of hard stones, they don't like it, and after class they often hang out around the high walls and talk about the beautiful garden inside, "How happy we are there," they said to each other.

Spring came, and there were little flowers and birds everywhere, only in the garden of the selfish giants, or winter, and the birds had no intention of singing, for there were no children, the trees forgot to blossom, a beautiful flower, sticking out of the grass, but when it saw the bulletin board, it felt very sorry for the children, and it slipped back into the ground to sleep, and the only happy people were only snow and frost. "The snow covered the grass with her big white cloak, and the frost painted all the trees silver, and then they invited the north wind to live with them, and the north wind came, covered in fur, and roared in the garden all day, blowing the chimney down." It was a pleasant place," said the North Wind, "and we must go to visit the hailstones" and so the hailstorms came too, and for three hours a day he rattled on the roof of the castle until he broke most of the stone slabs, and then he ran around the garden as fast as he could, dressed in gray and breathing like ice.

"I don't understand why spring is coming so late," said the selfish giant, who sat by the window and looked out at the cold white garden, "I hope the weather will change." ”

But spring did not come, nor did summer, and autumn brought golden fruit to every garden, but she did not give the garden of the giants "He was too selfish," she said, so it was always winter, and there was always winter, and the north wind, hail, frost and snow danced among the trees.

One morning the giant was lying in bed waking up and hearing the wonderful music, which sounded so sweet in his ears that he thought it must have been the king's musicians passing by, and yet it was only a little cardinal singing outside the window, but he had not heard the birds singing in the garden for a long time, and it seemed to him that it was the most beautiful music in the world, and then the hail stopped dancing above his head, the north wind stopped roaring, and a wonderful perfume came to him from the open window", "I believe that spring has finally come," said the giant, He jumped out of bed and looked out.

What did he see? He saw the most wonderful sight, the children coming in through a small hole in the wall, they sat on the branches, and on every tree he could see, there was a small child, and the trees were glad that the children were back again, they covered themselves with flowers and gently waved their arms above the children's heads, the birds flew around and chirped happily, the flowers looked up and smiled in the green grass, it was a lovely scene, it was still winter in one corner, it was the farthest corner of the garden, and inside stood a little boy He was too small to reach the branches, and he wandered around the trees, weeping and drooling, and the poor trees were still covered with frost and snow, and the north wind whistled above it ' climb up! "Little boy," said the tree, bending the branches as low as possible, but the little boy was too small.

When he looked out, the giant's heart melted "How selfish I am!" He said; 'Now I know why spring isn't here,' and he's really sorry for what he did.

So he went downstairs quietly, gently opened the front door, and went into the garden, but when the children saw him, they were frightened, and they all ran away, and the garden turned into winter again, and only the little boy did not run, because his eyes were full of tears, so that he did not see the giant coming, and the giant secretly followed behind him, gently took his hand, and put him on the tree, and the tree immediately blossomed, and the bird flew to sing on it, and the little boy put two arms around the giant's neck and kissed him, and the other children saw that the giant was no longer evil. Just ran back, and spring came with them too, "Children, now this is your garden," said the giant, who took a big axe and pushed the wall down, and they played all day, and at night they came to say goodbye to the giant.

"But what about your little buddies?" He said, "The boy I put on the tree." The giant liked him the most because he kissed him.

"We don't know," the children replied. "He's gone."

"You must tell him to come here again tomorrow," said the giant, but the children said that they did not know where he lived and had never seen him; the giant felt very sad.

Every afternoon after school, the children would come to play with the giant, but the little boy whom the giant loved never appeared again, and the giant was fine with all the children, but he missed his first little friend and often mentioned him "How much I want to see him!" He once said.

As the years passed, the giant became old and weak, and he couldn't play anymore, so he sat in a huge armchair and watched the children play games and admire his garden."I have a lot of beautiful flowers," he said. "But children are the most beautiful flowers."

One winter morning he was getting dressed and looking out the window, and he didn't hate winter now, because he knew it was just spring asleep and the flowers resting.

Suddenly, he rubbed his eyes in astonishment, looked and looked, and it was a marvelous sight, a tree in the farthest corner of the garden, full of lovely white flowers, its branches all golden, with silver fruits hanging from them, and below it stood the little boy he loved dearly.

The giant ran downstairs happily, to the garden, and he hurried across the grass to the child" As he approached, his face flushed with anger, he said, "Who dares to hurt you?" Because there are two fingernail marks on the palm of the child's hand, two fingernail marks on the small foot.

"Who dares to hurt you?" The giant shouted; "Tell me I can pick up my great sword and kill him." ”

"No!" Answer the child; "These are the wounds of love." ”

"Who are you?" The giant said that a strange awe descended upon him, and he knelt before the child.

The child smiled at the giant and said to him, "You let me play in your garden once, and today you are going to go with me to my garden, and that is heaven." ”

That afternoon, as the children ran around, they found the giant lying under a tree, his whole body full of white flowers.
