The reporter learned from the National Supercomputing Tianjin Center that since the recent outbreak of the local epidemic in our city, Tianhe's new generation of supercomputers have continued to provide computing power support for the fight against the epidemic, accelerated research and development applications in many fields such as drug screening, auxiliary diagnosis, and cloud collaborative diagnosis, and actively contributed to the prevention and control of the epidemic.

It is understood that as early as the new crown pneumonia epidemic in 2020, the National Supercomputing Tianjin Center relied on the Tianhe artificial intelligence open source platform to build the world's first new crown image intelligent auxiliary diagnosis system, and successively provided services for more than 100 medical institutions. Since then, the National Supercomputing Tianjin Center has continuously made major breakthroughs in the fields of innovation leadership and key technologies. At present, the new generation of Tianhe supercomputers that have completed the development and deployment in Tianjin have achieved major scientific and technological breakthroughs, and have made important technological innovations in architecture, high-performance microprocessors, high-speed interconnection and large-scale resource management, and some nodes have been launched to provide external services. Not long ago, the "large-scale virtual screening of new coronavirus drugs" completed based on Tianhe's new generation of supercomputer system was successfully shortlisted for the 2021 Gordon Bell New Crown Special Award. By using the ultra-large-scale computing power of Tianhe's new generation of supercomputers and using the world's leading drug-target combined with accurate evaluation calculation method, the research team has achieved rapid screening and discovery of new coronavirus emergency drugs.

"The Gordon Bell Prize is the highest academic award in the field of high-performance computing applications internationally, and this is the first time that mainland China has been shortlisted for this special award. According to actual calculations, under the support of Tianhe's new generation of supercomputers, the drug screening efficiency based on free energy perturbation-absolute combination free energy method has increased by 200 times. This achievement is of great significance for achieving a rapid drug response to outbreaks. Meng Xiangfei, secretary of the party group of the National Supercomputer Tianjin Center and chief scientist of Tianhe Supercomputer Application Research and Development, introduced.

At the same time, the National Supercomputing Tianjin Center and the team of Academician Zhang Boli of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine are carrying out the screening of active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of new crown pneumonia. "In 2020, we and Academician Zhang Boli's team have already carried out joint research, and this time we hope to rely on Tianhe's new generation of supercomputer system to revitalize more ancient Chinese medicine recipes to deal with the epidemic." Meng Xiangfei said, "The Tianhe team has begun to develop an intelligent system that can identify ancient chinese medicine recipes, and at the same time use a high-throughput virtual drug screening platform to simulate the trajectory of virus molecules and find the active site of the virus." ”

The National Supercomputing Tianjin Center also cooperated with the Fifth Central Hospital of Tianjin to carry out the research and development of the intelligent fever diagnosis system, and established a complete set of intelligent computing supported fever diagnosis operation system, including the large screen system of the central control command room, the electronic deduction system, the independent diagnosis and treatment system, etc., forming a comprehensive solution of "information integration, data processing, process management, intelligent analysis and decision-making".

According to reports, at present, the "Tianhe" series of scientific and technological innovation platforms, as a new type of scientific and technological innovation carrier, has comprehensively provided a new generation of information technology application support for the innovative development of smart medical care in the mainland. Relying on the construction of the "Tianhe Medical and Health Big Data Industrialization Platform", a pilot demonstration project for the development of the big data industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Supercomputing Tianjin Center is building a regional medical and health big data center to provide services for the safe and efficient use of medical data; based on the intelligent open platform and tools, the Tianhe Intelligent Medical Imaging Cloud is built, forming a systematic application integrating large-scale image data security and efficient aggregation management, artificial intelligence medical intelligent image auxiliary diagnosis, and cloud imaging multi-role multi-terminal collaborative diagnosis and inspection. It has also entered the landing service stage. Up to now, through the continuous iteration of major industry applications and support platforms, the national supercomputing Tianjin Center has achieved remarkable results, and the Tianhe supercomputer has completed more than 11,000 computing tasks every day, serving more than 6,300 key scientific research units, enterprises and government agencies across the country, accumulating nearly 15 billion yuan of new economic benefits for enterprises, and comprehensively supporting scientific and technological innovation and industrial development.
