Milanovic was sworn in as President of Croatia

According to CCTV news client news, Croatian President-elect Zoran Milanovic was sworn in in the capital Zagreb on the 18th.

Milanovic gave his inaugural address after taking the oath of office to the Judge of the Constitutional Court of Croatia, promising to do everything in his power to serve the welfare of the country and the people, and called on all sectors to cooperate in the fight against corruption and advocate equality and entitlement for all.

In the second round of voting for the Croatian presidential election held on the 5th of last month, Milanovic, who represented the Social Democrats and other center-left parties, won 52.7% of the vote, defeating then-President Kitarović and successfully elected.

The President of Croatia is elected by direct election for a five-year term. Milanovic, 53, was a former Croatian diplomat to the European Union and NATO and served as Croatia's prime minister from December 2011 to January 2016.
