The countdown to the Year of the Tiger is about to be staged at Yu Garden, the most youthful cultural landmark in Shanghai, where an intangible cultural heritage Jiangnan silk bamboo concert is about to be staged.

On January 28th, in the Sea Pear Garden high in the yuyuan Garden, the "one old and one young" group, the Huxinting Silk Bamboo Music Club with an average age of 70 years old, and the new seedling team with an average age of 10 years old will jointly perform the "Welcome to the New Year, Non-Genetic Inheritance - Jiangnan Silk Bamboo New Year Concert", playing a beautiful prelude to the New Year of the Tiger with the traditional rural music of Shanghai.

On the 28th, they will bring the original traditional Jiangnan Silk Bamboo Music "Xingjie" and "Three Six", the tune is bright and enthusiastic "Happy Song", the distant and clear Jiangnan Water Town Voice "Kaoru Wind Song", and more classic songs such as "Makeup Table Autumn Thought" and "Liang Zhu", vividly exerting the traditional techniques of Jiangnan Silk Bamboo, so that the public audience can meet the fireworks of the Old City of Shanghai in the sound of "soft and sticky" silk bamboo.

At the same time, the concert will also have 40 young actors of the Changqiao Xinmiao Silk Bamboo Team with an average age of only 10 years old, playing classic Songs of Jiangnan Silk Bamboo such as "Caiyun Chasing the Moon", "Yao Dance Music", "Flower Good Moon Full Moon", "Happy Weaver" and so on. Under the leadership of the predecessors, the New Miao Team adapted the "Old Six Plates Golden Snake Wild Dance" with the polyphony of Jiangnan silk bamboo, inheriting and innovating intangible cultural heritage skills.

Jiangnan silk bamboo has been popular in Shanghai for more than 300 years as a characteristic folk ensemble music in Shanghai, and was once a symbol representing the "rural sound" of Shanghai and Jiangnan region, and was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list in mainland China in 2006. At the end of last year, Yuyuan Mall and Changqiao Jiangnan Silk Bamboo Music Club jointly rebuilt the Huxin Pavilion Silk Bamboo Music Club. After more than 20 years of separation, Jiangnan silk bamboo musicians have returned to the Huxin Pavilion Tea House, which also means that the inheritance of the silk bamboo people will continue in this century-old tea house.
