In 2021, in line with the tenet of "readers first, service first", the service windows of the Municipal Library adhere to the normal opening of weekends and statutory holidays, provide readers with all-round and zero-threshold services, receive a total of 233,600 readers throughout the year, borrow and return 283982 volumes of literature, and the total number of digital resources accessed exceeds 6.9 million times; a total of 22,075 kinds of new books and 30,916 volumes are on the shelves, completing the procurement of digital resources such as online libraries, mobile libraries and 150,000 kinds of mirrored e-books.
In 2021, the Municipal Library accepted a total of 567 books donated by the society, including 316 local literature, 218 repaired damaged books, and 38 periodicals, establishing a complete, systematic and distinctive collection system. The social security card loading book card function will be realized from December 22, 2020, and will be actively promoted by the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. Through this function, citizens can use social security cards or electronic social security cards to borrow books at the municipal library with zero deposit and free of charge. At the same time, the municipal library held a social security card loading library card application business training for the librarians and business backbones of the county (city, district) library. The realization of this function marks that the city has realized the transformation and upgrading of public library reader services in the province.
Nowadays, in the municipal library, automatic temperature measurement, security inspection entry, ID card real-name registration, ID card and social security card self-service card borrowing, Alipay card and credit loan, face recognition loan, WeChat card and electronic reader card borrowing and returning books. New projects such as social security card card certification, credit borrowing and repayment + face recognition, and electronic reader card have become good assistants for new functions and smart upgrades. These functions provide a strong wisdom guarantee for borrowing services under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control.
Among the new readers in 2021, young people (15-44 years old) accounted for the largest proportion, at 82.76%. In particular, young women accounted for a large proportion of 58.41%. This shows that young women are the absolute main force of reading, and their enthusiasm for reading is particularly high. At the same time, among the middle-aged population, the proportion of women is also larger. In the elderly population (60 years and older), the proportion of new readers is the same as that of men and women. Among young children (14 years and younger), women also make up more men. Therefore, this set of data tells us that this year, Binzhou women are more fond of applying for reader cards and have higher enthusiasm for reading.

In 2021, the total circulation of literature in the municipal library will be 283982 volumes, and its Chinese will be donated to 142725 volumes, and the literature will be returned 141257 volumes. Readers borrowed 60,106 times and returned 78,904 times.
Statistically, the month with the largest borrowing volume is still the summer july, followed by June and August. The most borrowed daily slots are 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The largest book category with the largest number of borrowed books was the I literature category, accounting for 47.36%. Among them, the Zhihang Network Library is very popular with readers. It is a very large database composed of massive full-text data and basic data information. Based on 4.9 million kinds of Chinese bibliographies and 1.35 billion pages of full-text materials, it provides users with in-depth content chapter and full-text searches, trial reading of the original texts of some literature, and one-stop search of academic resources for efficient search and access to various literature types, as well as thoughtful reference consulting services, which is a true academic search engine and literature service platform.
In order to comprehensively promote the high-quality development of smart services in the library industry, in 2021, the Municipal Library Association also held the "Binzhou Smart Library Service Innovation and Development Forum", and invited industry experts to bring special reports and training to the counties and municipalities of Binzhou City, school libraries, and council member units.
