Hong Kong, 12 Oct (China News Network) -- Carrie Lam, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said on the 12th that at the invitation of the Ministry of Commerce, she would depart for Guangzhou on the afternoon of the 13th to attend the 130th China Import and Export Fair and pearl river international trade forum held on the 14th, and to Shenzhen on the same day after attending the above forum and opening ceremony. Carrie Lam said she would brief shenzhen municipal leaders on strengthening Hong Kong-Shenzhen cooperation.

Carrie Lam made the above remarks when she met with the media before attending the Executive Council on 12 July.

Carrie Lam's fifth policy address, released recently, proposes a development strategy for the northern metropolitan area, which will cover an area of 300 square kilometers and accommodate 2.5 million people. She said that many of the 10 action directions and 45 action projects of the development strategy of the northern metropolitan area need to cooperate with Shenzhen, so she hopes to take the lead in communicating with the leaders of Shenzhen.

Coinciding with the listing of offshore RMB bonds issued by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government for the first time in Hong Kong on the 12th on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Carrie Lam said that this once again shows that Hong Kong and Shenzhen are getting closer and closer, and can complement each other's advantages. As an international financial center, Hong Kong's financial services industry can serve Shenzhen's real economy.
