The Broadway musical "Yoshiya Rental" opened on April 29, 1996 at the Dutch Theatre. Directed by Michael Grave and choreographed by Mary Irby, the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning musical took 12 years and performed 5,123 times, closing on September 7, 2008.
