Yang Jia'an did not deny the "envelope" alleged by the prosecutor, saying that he received a call from "Brother Bao's younger brother", "Xiao Jie", at home, saying that there was an envelope to be handed over to Liu Yixian, and the telephone could not be contacted, so he was asked to hand it over. Yang Jia'an said that he didn't even look at whether the envelope was sealed or not, and he didn't know what was inside.
In response to the prosecution's accusation that he hired Xie Bing to find someone to kill Lin Hanlie, Liu Yixian, on the one hand, admitted the charge, and on the other hand, he said that he only played the role of an intermediary - that is, to relay Yang Jia'an's intention to the downline Xie Bing. Yang Jia'an denied in court that he had close contact with Liu Yixian and his premeditated plan for the case, but both were denied by Liu Yixian, who appeared in court after him.
For Xie Bing's profession, the police described him as the manager of the Rich and Noble Hall of the Casino Lisboa, and the underworld background was also a "Hunan gang". Xie Bing was also sentenced to 14 years in prison by a Hong Kong court in April 1982 for robbery, followed by a 10-year sentence. In 1993, he was fined 700 yuan for illegal gambling.
