The Lexi Expressway Daliangshan No. 1 Tunnel is the longest expressway tunnel in the southwest region of mainland China and the first expressway tunnel in Mainland China to use TBM auxiliary construction.
The tunnel has a total length of 15.3 kilometers, close to the Dafengding National Nature Reserve, Sichuan Province Mamize Nature Reserve and other giant panda habitat protection areas, in order to protect the natural environment and accelerate the construction progress, Lexi Company adopts the combination of TBM flat guide + main hole drilling and blasting method, filling the gap of domestic highways using TBM construction technology to assist tunnel construction.
Affected by the inconvenience of transportation in Liangshan Prefecture and the objective factors of frequent natural disasters in the rainy season, the TBM equipment entered the site 3 months later than the original time, and all the participants of the Lexi Expressway overcame the transportation difficulties and complex geological conditions such as tunnel fault fracture zone, gas, surge water, and surrounding rock deformation, and ensured the continuous, balanced and rapid excavation of TBM. After 13 months of hard work, the task of penetrating the first phase of the flat guide and inclined shaft of the Daliangshan No. 1 Tunnel was completed 77 days ahead of schedule.
At the same time, during the construction of the excavation, the "Yuecheng Liangshan" TBM set a record for the fastest daily advance of 49.12 meters and 730.2 meters per month for the TBM of the mainland expressway.
After the flat guide tunnel of Daliangshan No. 1 Tunnel and the inclined shaft are penetrated, the inclined shaft will assist the construction of the main tunnel of the Daliangshan No. 1 Tunnel, undertake more tasks of construction, transportation and personnel safety, and the tunnel construction will enter the accelerated fast lane.
Up to now, the Pingyin Cave of the Daliangshan No. 1 Tunnel has completed a total of 7856 meters, and it is expected to achieve the breakthrough of the Pingdao Cave in January 2023, the excavation support of the left line of the exit has been completed by 2116 meters, and the excavation support of the right line has been completed by 3298 meters, and the overall breakthrough of the main hole is expected to be achieved in May 2024.
