Compared with the West, South Korea's plastic surgery industry can only be regarded as a rising star.
At present, in the world, whether in the number of plastic surgeons or the number of plastic surgery, the top ones are the United States, Brazil, and Japan.
According to a 2011 study published by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the U.S. plastic surgery industry is unparalleled in the world. U.S. surgeons account for 21.1 percent of the world's surgeons and 17.2 percent of plastic surgery.
This, of course, has to do with the history of plastic surgery. However, in fact, south Korea's supervision of the medical plastic surgery industry is not strict, the qualifications of plastic surgery hospitals and doctors cannot be fully guaranteed, and there are often plastic surgery failures and disfigurements, and even accidents and deaths. According to the Korea Consumer Association, from 2011 to 2013, there were more than 200 medical accidents in plastic surgery in South Korea. For Chinese, due to the difference in the laws of China and South Korea, it is very difficult to protect their rights across borders in the event of an accident. So far, there have been no successful cases of Chinese rights protection.
