Shanghai is the birthplace of the party and the origin of red communication. In August 1920, a group of aspiring young people established China's first Communist Youth League in Yuyangli, they lit the torch of the May Fourth spirit, and let a new red flag begin to flutter in the hearts of Chinese youth; in July 1921, the first national congress of the Communist Party of China opened in Shudri, announcing the official establishment of the Communist Party of China, which is the place where the fire of revolution was ignited.
Today, a hundred years later, in the middle of Huaihai Road near Chengdu South Road, adjacent to the old sites of Yuyangli and Shudri, a new telephone booth has been set up to pay tribute to the heroes of a hundred years ago with a striking bright red flag and flame image. This red telephone booth located on the century-old Huaihai Road has attracted the attention of countless pedestrians, many young people have entered the pavilion, called the party in front of the screen with the confident smile of contemporary youth, and made a personal postcard, and this smile has also become the respect of young people living in new Shanghai to the martyrs of a hundred years ago, and they are also reporting to their predecessors with the good life of the present.
In The land of the eternal radio waves, shanghai Fukangli, where the first secret radio station of our party is located, a newly unveiled radio booth restores the Shikumen style of the location of the secret radio station of our party in 1929, and the scene of revolutionary work at that time is reproduced in the pavilion; outside the pavilion, Shanghai Telecom promotes the international megacity with a population of 24 million from the cable era to the mobile era, from the gigabyte city to the 5G city. Inside and outside the door, it is a completely different scene spanning a hundred years, but the original intention of the red is always the same, and the mission and responsibility of the telecommunications people have not changed for a hundred years.
Call to the depths of history and hear the echoes of history a hundred years ago
This special exhibition with the telephone booth as the carrier not only has "color", but also "sound". Shanghai Telecom has specially set up a special number "20210701" for the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, which can be dialed by citizens anytime and anywhere with a fixed telephone, mobile phone or public telephone (foreign users start by dialing 021), that is, they can hear a hundred red historical stories recorded by professional announcers.
Among them, Qiao Hao, a language performance artist and a national first-class actor, told the story of the revolutionary martyr Li Bai; Cao Lei, a well-known voice actor and a national first-class actor, told the story of the first national congress of the Communist Party of China; and Liu Feng, a state-level actor and director of the Shanghai Film Translation Factory, told the story of the establishment of the first secret radio station of our party. It is this story from the depths of history that has laid the foundation for our beautiful life now. Shanghai Telecom, on the other hand, is also using telephone booths throughout the city as a medium to convey the revolutionary deeds and achievements of modern construction of the party and the older generation of telecommunications people in the past hundred years to the people of Shencheng City and present gifts to the party and the people.
Telephone booths scattered throughout the corners and alleys of the city have witnessed the development of Shanghai, constituted the common memory of the times of Shencheng residents, and engraved countless precious historical moments.
