New York Times reporter Marc Stein reported: The first round pick in 2027 is the Lakers' most valuable trading asset at present. Sources revealed that the Lakers had tried to use this first-round pick, plus Taren Horton Tucker and Kendrick Nann to quote Pistons forward Jeremy Grant, but the Pistons refused.

Grant, who has averaged 33.2 minutes per game this season and can have 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists, underwent surgery for tearing the ligament of his right thumb in a game in December.
