A hundred years of gifts

In order to greet the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, we have specially launched the column "Tribute to the Centenary • Party History", which will record the glorious course of the party leading the people in unremitting struggle through rich historical documents, concentrate on displaying the important expositions and theoretical views of the main leaders of the party and the state, and systematically reflect the historical process of the party's ideological and theoretical establishment, development and perfection.

On April 23, 1945, the "Seventh National Congress" of the Communist Party of China was officially opened in the Yangjialing Auditorium in Yan'an, and ended on June 11, with a duration of 50 days, the highest number of party congresses in history.

The Seventh National Congress held a total of 21 plenary meetings, which was the largest number of plenary meetings in the history of the Party.

From the "Big One" to the "Big Six", the longest interval is not more than two years, which can be counted from the end of the "Big Six" in Moscow between June and July 1928, and the "Seventh Congress" from April to June 1945, which is as long as 17 years.

The First Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China elected members of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Chairman of the Central Committee, and Mao Zedong as Chairman of the Central Committee, chairman of the Politburo and Chairman of the Secretariat of the Central Committee. The Communist Party of China has achieved real political, ideological, and organizational maturity and has achieved unprecedented unity. Mao Zedong Thought began to be written on the banner of the Party and became the guiding ideology of the whole Party.

The Seven Independence Congresses formulated the line, principles, and tactics for defeating the Japanese aggressors, liberating the people of the whole country, and establishing a new China. History has proved that these lines, principles, and tactics are completely correct. The Seventh National Congress also summed up historical experience and summarized the fine traditional work style formed by the party in the course of protracted struggle into three major work styles, namely, the style of combining theory and practice, the style of work that is closely linked with the masses of the people, and the style of criticism and self-criticism.

In the view of party history experts, it is inevitable and hard-won for the Seventh National Congress to enter the annals of history as a "congress of unity and victory."
