Zhang Weiwei and Qiu Wenping: Tell the story of Xinjiang well in international comparisons

"Tell the story of Xinjiang through the methods of knowing each other and knowing oneself, international comparison, and dimensionality reduction and attack." Compare them with the Western practices one by one, and establish a kind of Xinjiang self-confidence and Chinese self-confidence in the comparison. ”

"The U.S. and European attacks on China's Xinjiang have exposed their imperialist nature. In order to contain China's development, it ignores any facts. ”

"How can we break through the Western blockade and develop a more equitable, rational, and effective order?"

Zhang Weiwei's speech:

The West's smear of Rumors about China's Xinjiang has reached the point of madness, but when it comes to madness, it is not far from complete bankruptcy. Recently, there have been many things in the West that have punched themselves in the face. As a result, the United States' "pig teammate" Canada dug up the bones of more than 1,000 indigenous children in a few months, confirming that Canada committed genocide crimes; the United States rumored that Xinjiang had a "concentration camp", resulting in a large number of unnatural deaths in the United States' own immigration detention center, which is the real concentration camp; today's Xinjiang is zero violent terrorist cases, zero poverty incidence, in contrast, the United States is anti-terrorism "the more anti-terrorism", the Epidemic in the United States has brought about a further increase in the poverty rate. The United States is experiencing a new spike in the outbreak.

I think americans who want to know the truth will probably be very bitter in their hearts, because Xinjiang has done a lot better than the United States in many aspects. The core points I want to talk about today are called knowing each other and knowing oneself, international vision, and dimensionality reduction strikes! Specifically, it is to tell the story of Xinjiang in comparison with the United States and other major Western countries.

First, we can compare counterterrorism. From 1990 to 2016, the "three forces" of terrorism, extremism and separatism were once very rampant in Xinjiang, and from 1990 to 2016, the "three forces" created thousands of violent terrorist incidents in Xinjiang and other places, and a large number of innocent people were injured, the most extreme of which was the serious violent crime of smashing, looting and burning in Urumqi on July 5, 2009, which killed 197 people and injured more than 1,700 people.

Later, under the strong leadership of the Party, the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang launched a great struggle against terrorism and de-radicalization in accordance with the law. The characteristics of our approach in Xinjiang are called comprehensive measures, which treat both the symptoms and the root causes. Now the struggle has won a decisive victory: Xinjiang has been free of violent terrorist incidents for four consecutive years, Xinjiang's economy is booming, and the people have gained an unprecedented sense of security, gain and happiness.

Compared with the great success of counter-terrorism in Xinjiang, the counter-terrorism carried out by the United States, especially its so-called "war on terror", is more and more anti-terrorist. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001, then-US President George W. Bush began a large-scale so-called "global war on terrorism" in the name of fighting terrorism, which has now lasted for 20 years. How much war and turmoil has occurred during this period? How many lives have been destroyed?

According to usa today website on March 1, about 800,000 people have been killed and 37 million have been displaced in the past two decades. Is this an anti-terrorism campaign or a killing spree? I think this should be the largest human rights violation in the world in the 21st century. In these places, however, terrorism has continued unabated and even intensified. It should be said that Xinjiang's counter-terrorism achievements are more than 100 times better than those of the United States. Which U.S. qualifies to evaluate counterterrorism in Xinjiang? It really should reflect on its entire so-called "anti-terrorism strategy", change from evil to righteousness, and immediately stop war and killing! That's the first point.

Second, let's compare the people's livelihood, the huge improvement of the people's livelihood in Xinjiang and the weakness and weakness of the improvement of the people's livelihood in the United States. With the support of the central government and sister provinces and municipalities, Xinjiang has vigorously strengthened infrastructure construction and supported various industries that create stable employment, and 19 provinces and cities across the country have supported Xinjiang. From 2014 to 2019, the per capita disposable income of Xinjiang residents increased by more than 9% per year. By the end of 2020, the last 10 poverty-stricken counties in Xinjiang were all removed, all 3.09 million poor people under the current standards in the region were lifted out of poverty, and 3,666 poor villages were all withdrawn. Since then, the people of Xinjiang have bid farewell to extreme poverty and ushered in the best period of development in history.

As for poverty in the United States, I just want to read you a few passages from an article by New York Times columnist Nicholas Christopher, published in the February 13, 2021 issue of The New York Times, titled "Can Biden Save Americans Like My Old Friend Mike?" 》。 The article reads:

I have a friend I met in the early years named Mike Staple. Mike had wanted to emulate his father and get a well-paid job in the timber industry. But under the influence of the environmental campaign to protect endangered species, jobs in the deforestation industry have been greatly reduced, so Mike has been unemployed for a while. After that, his life fell into a downturn. He began drinking heavily, started taking drugs, and finally his 14-page criminal record at the police station, where he may have also suffered from some sort of mental illness. Eventually, his wife couldn't bear it and chose to divorce him, and Mike was kicked out of his house and left to live on the streets, picking up garbage for a living. In December 2020, Mike died of a heart attack.

The author goes on to say that Mike's plight is by no means unique: Incomes for working-class Americans have stagnated since the 1970s, with many low-income earners addicted to drugs and families lost, with the result that on average, every two and a half minutes an American dies of despair, either from drugs, from alcohol, or from suicide.

The authors say that the United States has been looking at China as an adversary all day and forgetting to improve its own serious social problems of unemployment and poverty, saying that "there are as many people with criminal records in the United States today as there are people with college degrees," but it is regrettable that American politicians have turned a deaf ear to this. No wonder even Bernie Sanders, the democratic president of the United States and the candidate for the race at the time, lamented that "China has made more remarkable progress in eradicating extreme poverty than any other country in the history of human civilization."

Zhang Weiwei and Qiu Wenping: Tell the story of Xinjiang well in international comparisons

Kensington High Street, Philadelphia, USA 2021 (Video Screenshot)

Indeed, if we measure it by the United Nations, China has completely eliminated extreme poverty, and in the United States, by the same standards, in 2017, before the outbreak, at least 5 million people were trapped in extreme poverty, and today the extreme poverty situation in the United States has become even worse due to the spread of the new crown epidemic.

In Xinjiang, what we promote is "substantial poverty alleviation", the mobilization of the whole society, the help of the people of the whole country, "it is better to teach people to fish than to teach people to fish", and finally bid farewell to poverty completely. The American approach is "form poverty alleviation", which is characterized by providing certain benefits to poor people who meet certain conditions, completing a set of procedures, filling out forms, discovering gold, issuing food stamps, and so on. On the surface, these poor people get some income, but most of these people are always in a state of poverty and cannot get out of poverty.

The "substantial poverty alleviation" implemented in Xinjiang includes many contents, such as counseling for independent entrepreneurship, skills training, universal education, e-commerce, land circulation, and the tertiary industry of the secondary industry after the transfer, the government helps ordinary people build bread shops, grain and oil stores, and clothing stores, and the government helps to renovate housing courtyards. (Previous episode) We all mentioned eating, living, working together, and so on, which are unimaginable to the United States in the form of "form poverty alleviation."

What's more, the United States' welfare of the relatively vulnerable has now become a highly politicized partisan campaign and a tool for winning votes. Middle- and lower-class people, who make up a relatively large proportion of the population, become the main target of support because they have votes, while the really extremely poor people, because the proportion of the total population is relatively small, the voice is very weak, it is difficult for them to get real and substantial help. Therefore, the poverty alleviation effect in the United States is too much worse than that in Xinjiang.

Finally, let's compare the de-radicalization practices of Xinjiang and the West. Now everyone talks more about the vocational skills education and training center in Xinjiang and the DDP in the United Kingdom, which is the so-called "broken mind and detachment project". Xinjiang has set up a number of education and training centers in accordance with the law, and the goal is also to comprehensively implement measures and treat both the symptoms and the root causes; on the one hand, ideologically, from the aspect of education to rescue people with minor crimes or illegal acts, and strive to eliminate terrorist activities before they occur, in the bud; on the other hand, to provide skills training, solve the problem of unemployment and poverty, and eliminate the economic root causes of extremism.

Through the study of laws and regulations, cultural knowledge and religious knowledge, the education and training center exposes the harm of terrorism and extremism. For many students, this is a great emancipation of the mind. When we did research in Xinjiang in 2019, we learned that Uyghur girls have always liked to dress beautifully and can sing and dance, but later under the influence of religious extremism, many girls can only wear black robes.

When they sing and dance again today, it is a great emancipation of the mind that corrects the chaos, and its significance cannot be overestimated. The education and training center offers a variety of skills training courses, including e-commerce, typesetting and printing, beauty salons, etc., to ensure that trainees can master 1 to 2 vocational skills after graduation and create conditions for their employment.

Now all the education and training centers have completed their mission, the entire social atmosphere in Xinjiang has changed, the righteous atmosphere has risen, the evil atmosphere has declined, the citizens' legal awareness has been significantly enhanced, the exchanges, exchanges and integration of various ethnic groups have become closer, Xinjiang has regained a long-lost sense of security, and in 2019 alone, Xinjiang has received more than 200 million tourists from home and abroad, creating its own historical highest, the people of Xinjiang are happy, and the people of the whole Chinese are happy.

In contrast, the UK's DDP (Break-In and Detachment Project) has been ineffective since it began operating in 2011. In terms of de-radicalization, there are other projects in the UK, one called the Channel ("Communication") project, in which participants are considered to have terrorist tendencies, but the project is voluntary and carried out in the community. There is also a project called HII (Health Status Intervention), which focuses on psychological and religious education for prisoners, mostly one-on-one.

From the material I saw, the UK Home Office commissioned the evaluation of de-radicalization projects, including DDP, commissioned by the UK Home Office in 2018, and concluded that 95% of these projects were ineffective. From the perspective of Chinese, these de-radicalization practices in the United Kingdom show that they do not yet understand what is called comprehensive policy, both symptoms and root causes, and the natural effect will not be good. They also do not have such means, nor do they have such institutional arrangements to carry out comprehensive measures and treat both the symptoms and the root causes.

On the afternoon of November 29, 2019, a terrorist attack occurred on London Bridge, a famous landmark in London, killing 2 people and injuring 3 people, including those who had been imprisoned for terrorism and later participated in the DDP program. His re-offending has caused a public uproar throughout Britain, with the general disappointment of Britain's de-radicalization projects. Later, when the epidemic struck, the British government had to release a number of so-called "minor criminals" related to terrorist activities in advance, which caused the anger of British public opinion, but the British public was really powerless to do anything about all this.

Through education and training centers and other methods, Xinjiang has effectively prevented violent terrorist crimes, achieved universal employment and poverty alleviation, and treated not only the symptoms but also the root causes. The British method does not cure the symptoms, and the result is that the symptoms are not cured. But now the problem is that those who do poorly and do badly actually come to teach us how to do well and do well. Of course, in doing so, the West will only lift a stone and drop it on its own feet, and it will make the people of all nationalities in China vigilant and united as never before, so that the Western media and the entire Western political model will completely walk off the altar in the hearts of the Chinese.

Just now I used three cases - counter-terrorism, poverty alleviation, and de-radicalization - to discuss that we can tell the story of Xinjiang through the methods of knowing each other and knowing ourselves, international comparison, and dimensionality reduction. In international communication, the meaning of knowing each other and knowing oneself cannot be overemphasized, we must understand the West, understand the actual situation of the West, especially the various deep-seated problems and crises facing the West, compare our practices with the Western practices one by one, and establish a kind of Xinjiang self-confidence and Chinese self-confidence from the heart in the comparison.

As for the Western rumor-mongering and smearing, we cannot always choose to passively respond and explain. Frankly speaking, it should be the West that needs to respond and explain, not us. For Western media and politicians who have long been sinister and inferior to the point of no bottom line, any response and explanation is useless. We want to ridicule them, ridicule their ignorance and ignorance, reveal their rumors and blind spots one by one, and resolutely strike down on their rumors and smears!

Qiu Wenping's speech:

Today we talk about the issue of the United States (for Xinjiang), the US Strategic Competition Act of 2021 focuses on Xinjiang, based on the practical considerations of Xinjiang's important strategic position. Xinjiang is the starting point and core area of the Belt and Road Initiative, which radiates throughout Central and South Asia. Therefore, we in Xinjiang all know that these violent terrorist audio, video, and violent terrorist elements imported from the outside world into Xinjiang have all entered Xinjiang under the connivance and guidance of major countries outside the region. The bankruptcy of this strategy of "diverting water from the east" in Xinjiang has actually led to hysteria in the United States.

Professor Zhang said that the "genocide", "forced labor", human rights and religious beliefs in Xinjiang are only the beginning of stigmatization, after which a stigmatization alliance can be formed and forced to take sides, which is actually a story of deer as horses. Now it is found that "referring to deer as horses" is not very good, and the entire Islamic country is not on the side of the United States. The power of the empire is reflected, I don't need to be reasonable, if it is reasonable, what empire should I be? This is the essence of rogue imperialism.

It is inconceivable to use such a feeble-minded lie as "genocide", which is an imperialist arrogance. It has subverted Libya, Iraq, Syria, and made people miserable, but in fact, its reasons are "washing powder", "chemical weapons", "human rights", "virus", so "genocide" sounds too familiar to us, this trick is actually very convenient.

I agree with Professor Zhang that the United States has not really thought about how to deal with China. Therefore, when it comes to religious extremism, the source is that the United States and NATO have invaded Islamic countries, subverted legitimate governments, and created a worldwide wave of refugees, while the United States is not willing to accept refugees, it only approves 10,000 people a year, and it has a one-year approval period. So all these refugees went to Europe. In fact, the cooperative relationship between the United States and Europe is very fragile, and the United States is now engaged in a wave of hysterical anti-China, very much like the "McCarthyism" of the (last century) fifties, which does not need to be persecuted and attacked rationally.

The Strategic Competition Act of 2021 should be the product of the twitching blind movements of U.S. policymakers, intending to treat the bill as George Kennan's Cold War report that year. In fact, a consensus has been reached on the strategic importance of china to thoroughly carry out a comprehensive "imperial hegemony" with China, which is a Cold War mentality. The thinking and strategy of the all-round Cold War against China will inevitably lead to an all-out siege. So now in China, as long as you can find the bricks are thrown on your head, dirty water is thrown at you. Political, economic, cultural, ideological, religious and human rights areas are pervasive infiltration and siege.

Since the 1980s, China has been open to learning from the West, so our generation or earlier generation is actually very familiar with the various theoretical systems of Western democracy, because we held a learning attitude and seriously studied these things. Among them, all kinds of theories under the mud and sand have come in, it has supported agents for a long time, all kinds of people and horses who have been brainwashed by theory will appear one after another, and the struggles in all fields will be expanded, one after another, endlessly. So we're mentally prepared for that.

First of all, we are now going to attack and defend. The core issue of all countries is internal affairs, like the Xinjiang issue, we have solved the people's livelihood problems, ideological problems, it is stable, the people of Xinjiang can live a good life. The well-being of the people is the foundation of everything, and only development will solve the problem, so we must increase our efforts to aid Xinjiang, build Xinjiang into the core hub of the "Belt and Road", and serve as a very good model for the integration and mutual adaptation of Islam and modern countries in the future.

Second, we must give full play to the superiority of the Chinese system, persist in improving China's regional ethnic system, and complete the sinification of religion, which is the most core thing. The regional ethnic system is a characteristic of China, and the general secretary once specifically said that we must maintain the existence of the autonomous region, but we must improve it, and these existing problems must be improved.

In addition, in public opinion, it is necessary to break the shackles of a kind of thinking. The ideological investment in the United States has reached 3.2 billion US dollars, "color revolution", "Internet freedom", "cyberspace game", "public opinion and information game", its related budget is so high, specially set up a hedge China impact fund, Americans to comprehensively launch a public opinion war against China is a very clear direction.

Many people think that we can compromise to seek peace, but in Chairman Mao's words, if we seek peace through struggle, we will live in peace, and if we seek peace through compromise, we will die peacefully. Western countries are all separated church and state countries that have grown up under the monotheistic system, and their formation of so-called democratic systems is nothing more than replacing God's position with the concepts of "democracy" and "human rights", which is also characterized by the strict characteristics of monotheism's intolerance and intransigence. My democracy and my human rights are God, and if they are different from me, they will have to fight with the party, which is absolutely intolerant.

Therefore, there is competition between the international system of "the United States and the United States and the unity of the world" advocated by the community of human destiny and the "democratic freedom" of the United States and the West, the dictatorship system of the new bottle of colonialism and old wine. Looking back today, Europe and the United States are very intolerant of China, because your civilization and system are different from mine, which is the core issue. The attacks of the United States and Europe on China's Xinjiang have completely exposed the imperialist nature of their aggression and plunder. In order to contain China's development, it ignores any facts and is unwilling to find even decent excuses. Now more of us question the rumors and lies of the United States and the West, but I am more concerned about our own people Chinese, some people are half-convinced of the propaganda of the West, and some of them openly agree with it.

Round table part

Moderator: "Xinjiang card" we have seen through, we have a way to deal with it. Next, on the issue of Xinjiang, what kind of moths will it make?

Qiu Wenping: Xinjiang should be over for the time being, and this card is now played with loopholes. But it is a comprehensive siege strategy, when it forms the idea, Xinjiang, Tibet is the ethnic and religious issues, and then the core is in the Taiwan and Hong Kong issues, so these two days it has turned to Taiwan, the Hong Kong issue is also constantly fermenting, like a combination of fists.

My judgment on the Xinjiang issue is that we have basically blocked it now, and the focus has shifted to the Taiwan issue and the Hong Kong issue. Of course, I am most worried about the Taiwan issue, because the Taiwan issue is the only possibility of a hot war between China and the United States in any case. If it (the United States) crosses the bottom line, we cannot but react, because now it keeps provoking the bottom line, and when we can't bear it, it is a matter of strategic decision-making, which is a high test for both China and the United States.

Zhang Weiwei: As for Xinjiang, there is a very meaningful thing recently, the Canadian Senate did not pass a Xinjiang-related proposal, and the narrow majority vetoed it. In fact, when the BBC interviewed me last year, I asked about Xinjiang twice, and I found that he was a little weak in his use of words. He said "supposedly it happened" and he used "supposedly yes", which was a ploy of their propaganda, "someone called", "What do you think?" "..., they don't have the bottom in their hearts, because these things are too outrageous, is it okay to use some brains to create rumors?" Don't make everyone think it's a joke.

Moderator: Teacher Zhang, can you further explain to us how good is international comparison?

Zhang Weiwei: Chairman Mao said that only by comparing can there be discernment. The most typical classic case is epidemic prevention and control, if there is no Western epidemic prevention and control so bad, it may be until now, many Chinese will say that we are not doing a good job, there are too many problems. But today we realize how successful we have been.

I told my friend in Xinjiang last time that Xinjiang has a population of about 26 million, which is similar to Australia. But Australia has no neighboring countries, Xinjiang borders eight countries, many of them are epidemic areas, but Xinjiang you have done a good job of epidemic prevention and control, so far the death is 3 people. Australia is one of the best in western countries to prevent and control the epidemic, with a population similar to that of Xinjiang, with more than 900 deaths. This is through comparison, the story is told. Poverty alleviation can be compared, counter-terrorism can be compared, de-extremification can be compared, epidemic prevention and control can be compared, and many can be compared, which is completely self-confidence from the heart, not ordinary self-confidence.

This applies well to our entire international communication. Now everything lies in international comparison, I myself have visited more than 100 countries in the field, so when it comes to a certain country, I know where your achievements are, where your strengths are, where the problems are, if you want to compare, we will be frank and realistic, you have better than me, I learn from you, you are not as good as mine, I tell you where you are inferior to me. Therefore, such a calm and a comparison, people have to obey when they hear it.

Qiu Wenping: The anti-epidemic (comparison) East Asian civilization and Western civilization also see very clearly, East Asian civilization respects authority, collectivism, respect for government and system, relative prevention and control are still within a reasonable range, unlike Western countries outrageous to the point of seeing human life as grass, this can also be a comparison.

Host: In fact, to let everyone know the real and beautiful Xinjiang, we have many innovative practices, we also invited a Cadre Zhu Yueming from Shanghai's Jing'an District to help Xinjiang, where are you doing the work of aiding Xinjiang now?

Zhu Yueming: I entered Xinjiang on March 18, 2020, and now work in Anakul Township, Bachu County, Kashgar Region, Xinjiang, and my unit in Shanghai is Zhijiang West Road Subdistrict.

Host: It's just after the pandemic. I have also seen the efforts of the people of Xinjiang from the outbreak of the epidemic to the present. I would like to hear your introduction, what kind of practice do you have that you can share with you?

Zhu Yueming: From my personal feelings, in the past year and a half in Xinjiang, I have seen the efforts of all aspects of Xinjiang. Each of our cadres has their own responsibilities, one-on-one to see the death row, and control all possible fish that have slipped through the net and blind spots of the epidemic, ensuring that there will be no epidemic in Xinjiang. At the point, make sure everyone has been tested (for nucleic acids).

This is a system for the entire management of Xinjiang. From the perspective of maintaining stability, the good use of this system has ensured the long-term peace and stability of Xinjiang. Moreover, after we arrived in Xinjiang, we paid more attention to the adjustment of local industries and the upgrading of industries in Xinjiang. After the continuous release of the stability dividend, Xinjiang will inevitably usher in a major development pattern. There must be some pillar industries, take our Bachu County as an example, we are the largest open-air cotton production base in Xinjiang. But after we arrived in Xinjiang, we felt that cotton was really good, and it was indeed a characteristic of Xinjiang, but if we had the conditions and ability, we hoped that a variety of industries would develop at the same time.

Zhang Weiwei and Qiu Wenping: Tell the story of Xinjiang well in international comparisons

Xinjiang is the main cotton-producing region in China (Source: China News Network)

For example, we have cooperated with a Shanghai company this year to promote quinoa cultivation, which currently plants 2,000 acres of land in our township, all planting new varieties of quinoa. If we can plant successfully in the harvest season, we will develop 100,000 mu of quinoa planting in the future and build our Bachu County into the hometown of quinoa in China.

So I work in Bachu, my heart is full of hope, and I am also full of hope for the local development prospects of our Bachu, and I hope that at the moment when our batch of aid to Xinjiang ends its mission, we can really create a brand of Bachu quinoa town. Let everyone know that we in Xinjiang not only have cotton, but also quinoa.

Host: Will there be other ways to show this process of your efforts, so that everyone can keep up with the changes in this industry?

Zhu Yueming: Now that we have entered the era of self-media, everyone has a camera in their hands to record the changes and development of our Xinjiang. Some of our local Internet celebrities in Xinjiang will promote themselves, and some of the products we have done well, many Internet celebrities will spontaneously shoot. Including some of the development of our other industries, there are some self-media in the follow-up, I think this is a very good phenomenon, let outsiders see our most real development and changes in Xinjiang, so that each of us can feel that Xinjiang has made a qualitative leap.

Zhang Weiwei: The West has portrayed the whole country of China and Xinjiang as such a dark and completely abnormal society, and we have spread a normal, prosperous, and developed society and the lives of ordinary people throughout the world through the Internet. So this lie went bankrupt all at once, 200 million people have been to Xinjiang, they all have videos, they have photos.

In fact, I once mentioned the idea of asking foreign journalists to be more objective, or a little biased, but not excessively, to work with our township party secretary, county party secretary, or ordinary party cadres for a day. Spending 8 or 10 hours to see how our secretaries work is very helpful for them to understand the operation of Chinese politics, the Chinese Communist Party, and how many things our grassroots cadres do every day.

The audience asked questions

Audience: How should we recognize and identify the different methods adopted by the West in different regions such as Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in order to split China? In the daily life of ordinary people, what secret and subtle influences should we be wary of?

Zhang Weiwei: I think Xinjiang and Tibet are multi-level, an ethnic issue, that is, the contradiction between the Uyghurs, tibetans and the Han people, who often want to use this to provoke ethnic struggles; there is also a religious issue, that is, the contradiction between Tibetan Buddhism, Islam and our Han nationality, or the contradiction between religious belief or non-belief. We must make it clear that China's religious tradition is much greater than that of the West, and it is very inclusive, and our Confucianism and Taoism have historically coexisted peacefully, learned from each other's strong points, and tolerated each other. So there is certainly no religious war in the European sense in China's history, there have been conflicts in the past, but there is no religious war, this tradition continues to this day, in fact, the core experience is that religion is a culture, a belief, is a way of life, but can not interfere in politics, this is one of our core principles.

If you come across people asking about religion in Tibet and Xinjiang, you can tell him about this, our tradition is very great, it has always been possible to live in peace, but religion cannot interfere in politics, you interfere in politics, we want to stop you.

They often say why the Uyghurs cannot be independent, why the Tibetans cannot be independent, and I have a classic method of rebuttal: I say do you know how many ethnic groups there are in the world today? Tens of thousands of nationalities, as long as one nation can be independent, then tomorrow there will be a world war, there are many multi-ethnic countries in the world, why should the West encourage nationalities to fight the nation, we have a very good tradition of cooperation and coexistence, the tradition of helping each other and uniting together like pomegranate seeds, my approach is smarter than yours.

The situation in Hong Kong and Taiwan is more political, but I think it can also be said that we netizens are very smart and very wise. In the past, airlines said that Taiwan is also a country, Hong Kong is also a country, we netizens found out, and then they had to change, because we have many netizens, the Chinese market is large. So netizens will automatically find out what is wrong with it, including its advertising, maps, and payments, many problems have really not been paid much attention to in the past, and now netizens are very sensitive to these problems.

Qiu Wenping: Yes, this issue is very complicated, I can give a small example. Everyone now knows that the principle of self-determination of peoples is the right one, but when did this principle appear? After the First World War, after U.S. President Wilson proposed it, Churchill said at the time, "The implementation of your principle is the end of our British Empire." This principle was later implemented, and we saw that the British Empire disintegrated, the Austro-Hungarian Empire disintegrated, the Soviet Union disintegrated, but why did the United States mention it? As I said earlier, the American view of nationality is different from other countries, it has no nation. This move is only to kill and injure the enemy, to dismember its opponents, and it has no loss at all to itself, which is very politically lethal. There are profound political intentions hidden behind this politically correct thing, and sometimes without careful screening, you don't know what is hidden behind it, and many Western political theories deny the legitimacy of our national system. We talk about our own reasoning, talk about our own system, just look at today's program, we will understand what we are doing.

Audience: Some organizations, such as the BCI (Swiss Good Cotton Development Association), are not able to effectively safeguard the interests of their members, but so many members choose to continue to follow them, including ideological reasons. How can we break through the Western blockade and formulate a more equitable, rational, and effective order of our own?

Zhang Weiwei: BCI itself is a practice that the West is very good at, that is, to set standards. Once a consensus is reached, this criterion becomes political correctness, and political correctness can be imposed on all those it wants to impose, with great commercial interests behind it. Therefore, in the struggle against Western discourse, we must study, and even learn from it to some extent. Now the BCI is actually a little nervous, as if it has quietly removed the statement about Xinjiang from its website. Some companies are still quite nervous, and they don't want to offend on both sides, so this shows that we have a lot of space for long-sleeved good dances, and we can gradually form our own standards and push them out strongly. And countermeasures, we are now the world's largest consumer market, not afraid of you at all, Chinese people will unite behind the slogan of sanctioning it.

Qiu Wenping: In my personal opinion, our huge market is a very powerful weapon. We're going to take advantage of that later, and we can let go of commercial companies (set the standard), like our TRANSSION phones in Africa. Perhaps domestic friends do not know much about this brand, but people are absolutely the first in Sales in Africa. In fact, it is to set the standard, which is actually a process of rural encirclement of the city.

Zhang Weiwei: It can be seen from the Olympic Games that in fact, China has the second largest number of gold medals this time, which is one piece behind the United States, but we are far behind others in influencing the olympic standards. All kinds of sports, like tai chi, have not gone in until now, and the West may have gone in for decades, such as street dance. If we really learn from the experience of the West, table tennis can make all kinds of gold, ten gold medals, twenty gold medals are possible. Now that we are restricted by others, we must have a very strong sense of consciousness, and our standards must go in.

Moderator: You just said that there is a very strong sense of consciousness, this is indeed a change in these years, maybe everyone did not recognize it in the past, or because of some rules, some countries in the West designed invisible things, we did not know much at that time. But now everyone is more and more aware of this problem, which is very important. The next step is to see how we can mobilize enterprises, social forces, how to do some breakthroughs in this hidden invisible force, and have more practice.

Audience: Over the years, the foreign media has been smearing us, creating a situation where people have become a little sensitive and a little resistant to the fact that foreigners are interviewing. Before I saw a video, when it was raining heavily in Zhengzhou, there was a German reporter interviewing in Zhengzhou, and everyone was very alert to run up to listen to what the other party was saying and whether they had smeared us. But they made the finished product and used the word "thug" to describe the people at the scene. What do the two teachers think about this? In addition, if we usually encounter foreign media interviewing us, how should we respond?

Zhang Weiwei: At that time, the people on the streets of Zhengzhou regarded him as a BBC reporter, because the BBC reporter had previously made a report on the flood in Zhengzhou, which was really untrue. Then [the masses] say you can't do that, but not to the word "thug", the word is overused. But you can understand that the Western media sometimes does this, which is common, even if you just put a picture of Tiananmen Square, it must put a policeman, it is to give you a hint, when you encounter neutral things, it can think and report on us in a bad way, which often appears.

Zhang Weiwei and Qiu Wenping: Tell the story of Xinjiang well in international comparisons

But I think in general, don't shy away from foreign journalists, after all, there is a considerable proportion of journalists who are relatively objective. The problem now is that sometimes some of our officials should come out and speak, and when we meet reporters, they are a little scared, and sometimes we have more than enough defense and insufficient offense, and people give you a chance to let your voice reach the world. You see my own attitude is, if the BBC interviews me, I say are you recording or live? I am generally a little hesitant to record, and I am almost willing to participate in the live broadcast, because it can't stop you at once, so that your voice can be transmitted. Of course, behind it is really from the heart of self-confidence.

Qiu Wenping: I say the third point, which is to break the authority of the person with the microphone. Any country's reporters come to China to cover, do you have me to know your own country? Do you have me to know my city? For example, if you go to Xinjiang to interview locals, what is the situation in Xinjiang? A foreigner who doesn't even speak Chinese, how can I know my own hometown? So after breaking this superstition, you are very confident, this place is only known to me, I taught you a lesson. After having this view, especially the younger generation began to look at Westerners head-on and then tell their own stories.
