At present, 478 compulsory education schools in the city have established an operation management system, and after-school services have achieved full coverage; 220 of the city's 274 discipline-based off-campus training institutions in the compulsory education stage have been reduced, 54 have been converted into non-profit institutions, and 443 training institutions have been included in the bank supervision platform.
"The masses and primary and secondary school students have clearly felt the practical effects after the 'double reduction', education has better returned to the source of public welfare, and the city's overall work and assessment indicators are in the forefront of the province." Wu Guoqiang said. Last year, Xiangtan strictly implemented the national and provincial enrollment policies, seriously rectified the illegal enrollment behavior of the three private junior high schools, and did a good job in resettling 693 students in a safe and orderly manner, while vigorously standardizing the development of private compulsory education, steadily promoting the restructuring of "public participation in the people" school system, cleaning up the occupation of public education resources by private schools, and strictly controlling the proportion of students in private compulsory education schools.
