Note: Bauer's recent treatment has not been satisfactory, so surgery is considered necessary

Live Bar Jan. 21 Today the Bulls officially announced that team defender Ronzo Ball will undergo knee surgery and is expected to be absent for 6-8 weeks.

According to Woj added, sources revealed that Bauer will travel to California in the coming days for arthroscopic surgery to repair a slightly torn meniscus.

The Bulls and Ball's agent, Rich Paul, had discussed various options with doctors, but surgery was deemed necessary because Ball had a mild meniscal tear and recent non-surgical treatments had not been satisfactory. In addition, the reporter also revealed that the bull initially thought that Bauer was just a bone abrasion, but did not expect a slight tear in the meniscus of his left knee.

This season, Ball has played in 35 games, averaging 13 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
