In 2021, the province smashed 26 mafia-related organizations and 101 evil force criminal groups, cracked 2,910 criminal cases, detained 5,211 criminal suspects, and sealed, frozen, and seized 4.074 billion yuan of assets involved in the case. The public security organs launched an operation to arrest the "fish that slipped through the net", and all 40 targeted fugitives were arrested; the provincial procuratorate insisted on handling 100% early intervention in cases involving criminal syndicates and major evil-related cases and unified a strict control system, and simultaneously examined 57 cases involving criminal syndicates and evil forces. The provincial court adopted methods such as "one-handed" case package and promotion to direct handling, and promoted the provincial courts to conclude 151 cases involving criminal syndicates, with a heavy sentence rate of 58.2%.
In 2021, a total of 924 people involved in mafia-related evil corruption and "protective umbrellas" were investigated and punished, 903 people were given party discipline and government affairs sanctions, and 133 people were transferred to judicial organs. By the end of last year, the disposal rate of assets in existing cases involving criminal syndicates and evil forces in effective judgments had reached 99.9 percent and 100 percent, respectively.
The case-handling department issued a total of 2,322 supervision recommendations, judicial recommendations, procuratorial recommendations, and public security reminder letters, and 100% rectification was in place. The Guangdong Banking and Insurance Regulatory Bureau organized the "Year of Internal Control and Compliance Management Construction", and made a total of 156 administrative punishment decisions, punished 110 institutions, and fined and confiscated a total of 77.1917 million yuan.
During the special struggle, more than 5,700 clues assigned by the National Anti-Organized Crime Office and supervised by the Provincial Anti-Organized Crime Office and key supervision were all completed. Zhao Juhua, vice president of the provincial court, said that since the normalization of the struggle against organized crime and evil forces, the provincial courts have adjudicated a total of 427 cases involving criminal syndicates and evil forces and 2,887 people, severely punished 107 cases of criminal syndicates and evil crimes in the five key industries of information networks, natural resources, transportation, engineering construction, and financial lending that the masses of the people strongly complained about, and sentenced 185 leading elements of criminal syndicates and evil crimes such as Zhang Shijie of Heyuan to more than ten years in prison.
